    In July 2022, Boone took medical leave from NY1 for treatment of pancreatic cancer. In March 2023, she returned to the work after a successful treatment. On July 27, 2023, Boone announced on social media that she was undergoing treatment - including chemotherapy - again. Just over a month later, on September 3, 2023, she died due to complications related to the cancer at the age of 48.
