John Deery is a Fellow of Sundance Screenwriters Lab, where he developed his screenplay of the movie, Conspiracy of Silence.
Deery was presented with the Hartley-Merrill International Screenwriting Award at the Cannes Film festival in 2001.
John Deery's film, Conspiracy of Silence, won the National Board of Review Freedom of Expression Award in 2004. The award was shared with Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ and Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 that year.
