After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike last year, keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. The Sunday, May 12th premiere date is now swiftly approaching – and even though we just saw a trailer for the show a couple weeks ago, a new trailer for Interview with the Vampire season 2 has now been unveiled. You can watch it in the embed above.
Anne Rice’s novel Interview with the Vampire centers on the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he relates the story of his life to a reporter, in particular how he was turned into a vampire and then mentored by Lestat de Lioncourt. After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike (which finally ended last month), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. A specific premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but TV Insider has gotten their hands on a pair of images that show Sam Reid back in the role of the vampire Lestat – and it looks like these images show Lestat in two different time periods. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.
Executive producer Mark Johnson has previously said that Interview with the Vampire season 2 takes place in the 1790s, 1940s, 1970s, and 2023. TV Insider is guessing that one image shows Lestat in the 1790s, while the other shows him in the 1940s.

After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 (as well as the Walking Dead spin-offs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. Now AMC has released a clip from Interview with the Vampire season 2 that largely focuses on a conversation between Louis and a vampire from the Theatre des Vampires, but also gives a glimpse of Delainey Hayles as Claudia, a character who was played by Bailey Bass in the first season. And it allows Claudia to participate in a vampire feast.

The second season of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire TV series has been filming primarily in Prague since April (with other locations including Paris and New Orleans) – but Deadline has been able to confirm that the production has now been halted due to the Screen Actors Guild strike. Some of the show’s stars are SAG, so filming won’t be able to resume until the strike has ended.
Anne Rice’s novel Interview with the Vampire centers on the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he relates the story of his life to a reporter, in particular how he was turned into a vampire and then mentored by Lestat de Lioncourt.
The AMC version stars Sam Reid (The Newsreader) as Lestat; Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones) as his companion Louis de Pointe du Lac; Assad Zaman (Small Axe) as Rashid, Louis’ companion in present day; newcomer Kalyne Coleman...

The second season of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire TV series is set to begin filming in Prague this week (before moving on to other locations like Paris and New Orleans), but before the cameras start rolling we have some unexpected casting news to report. Deadline has broken the news that Bailey Bass will not be reprising the role of teen vampire Claudia in season 2. Instead, she’s being replaced by Delainey Hayles, whose previous credits include the TV shows Too Close on ITV and Holby City on the BBC.
AMC provided the following statement: “Bailey Bass is a talented actor who did a remarkable job bringing the character of Claudia to life in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. For a variety of reasons, Delainey Hayles will appear as Claudia in season two. We are grateful for Bailey’s unforgettable performance in season one and wish her nothing but the best.

AMC is so dedicated to building a franchise out of the books and characters from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, they ordered a second season of the Interview with the Vampire TV series before the first season had even started airing. The first season wrapped up its seven episode run back in November, and now it’s time to start looking ahead to season 2. Deadline reports that Ben Daniels (Foundation) has signed on for a series regular role in Interview with the Vampire season 2, and he will be playing the character Santiago, “the leading vamp thespian of the Theatre des Vampires who grows increasingly suspicious of the American vampires Louis and Claudia.” When Interview with the Vampire was brought to the screen in 1994, Santiago was played by Stephen Rea.

AMC is building a franchise out of the Vampire Chronicles novels written by Anne Rice, a franchise that began with the first season of their Interview with the Vampire series. Last Sunday, they started airing a series based on Rice’s Mayfair Witches novels – a series appropriately titled Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches (read our review Here). And during an AMC panel at a recent Critics Association presentation, executive producers of these shows revealed that they won’t be entirely separate. Viewers will see crossovers between Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches… which makes sense, since the Vampire Chronicles stories did become entwined with the Mayfair Witches series as they went on.
Esta Spaulding and Michelle Ashford, both of whom previously worked on Masters of Sex, are writers and executive producers on Mayfair Witches, and during the AMC panel Spaulding said there is one character who appears in both series already.

Interview with the Vampire Episode 5
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire’s “A Vile Hunger for Your Hammering Heart,” is a pivotal episode. The dysfunctional family unit of Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), and Claudia (Bailey Bass) pushes past the breaking point several times. In normal families, the kid grows up and moves on. That’s a sticky point for vampires.
Throughout his conversation with journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), Louis digs his fingernail into the hardwood tabletop in front of him. As the questions take an accusatory stance, the vampire carves quite a dent in the wood. It is a small detail, meant to subtly show the preternatural talents in Louis’ talons, but it also scratches the surface of the façade of sanguinarian etiquette. It may not be in the book Bruce (Damon Daunno) keeps suggesting,...

Interview with the Vampire is a bonafide hit.
The AMC series has already been quickly renewed for a season two and is taking the internet by storm. A brilliant reimagining of the Anne Rice classic, the series has crafted a compelling narrative, and an excellent cast brings it to life.
The effervescent and exquisite Kalyne Coleman plays the formidable Grace de Pointe du Lac, and TV Fanatic was able to snag a few minutes of her time to talk about that devastating scene during Interview with the Vampire Season 1 Episode 3 and what's next for Grace this season.
How familiar were you with Interview with the Vampire before booking this role?

Interview with the Vampire Episode 3
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire episode 3, “Is My Very Nature That of A Devil,” is a turning point in a series about transformation. Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) debates revisionist history with Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), words are said, tapes are burned, and tongues are bit. Daniel plays a portion of the 1973 original interview tapes where Louis calls himself Lestat de Lioncourt’s (Sam Reid) “complete superior,” and concludes he had been “sadly cheated in having him for a teacher.” This does not jibe with the modern telling, but it isn’t jive. The series goes from rehearsed to nuanced, but the acts remain the same.
After a very pivotal scene, the vampire asks the interviewer which one of them is performing. Molloy has come across as combative, a hardened journalist looking for the hard truths,...

As every network jockeys to own the shiniest piece of IP possible to attract distracted viewers, the best thing to say about any adaptation is that it honors the source material while also evolving it, believably and purposefully, to fit a new medium. AMC aims to do exactly that with “Interview With the Vampire,” the first installment of what it’s calling “The Immortal Universe,” having bought the rights to many of Anne Rice’s most iconic works. With both the books and evocative 1994 film to contend with, creator Rolin Jones (“Perry Mason”) took on an admittedly enormous challenge. How do you stay faithful to what makes Rice’s novels so popular while bringing something to the screen that the likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and a tiny Kirsten Dunst didn’t?
The new series tackles this crucial question head-on in its very first scene. Set 50 years after the events of the film,...

AMC is working to build a franchise out of the books and characters from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, so it’s not too surprising to hear that they’ve already ordered season 2 of Interview with the Vampire, which doesn’t begin airing until October 2nd – although I was hoping we’d be getting mini-series adaptations of each book in the series, rather than an ongoing Interview with the Vampire series.
Variety has confirmed that Interview with the Vampire season 2 will consist of eight episodes and will take place in Europe.
AMC’s Dan McDermott provided the following statement: “The scope and breadth of this show, and what Mark and Rolin have delivered, is just stupendous. They have rendered the rich and vibrant world of Anne Rice’s Interview in a wonderful way, and we’re incredibly proud. From the set build, to production design, costumes and more — no detail was overlooked.

"If you finally submit to your nature, you will be filled with all the life you could hold." Time to descend into the dark world of vampires once again. AMC has debuted a new 60-second promo teaser for Interview With the Vampire, their fresh new take on the iconic vampire book by Anne Rice. The gothic tale, which follows the love/hate relationship between two vampires, is about Louis de Pointe, Lestat De Lioncourt and Claudia's epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality. Everyone remembers the iconic movie, Interview with the Vampire from 1994, because it starred Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise and Kirsten Dunst.
