John Regan is nothing if not tenacious. We've been covering his project Sherwood Horror since 2009, with the last update given over four years ago. Still, he's holding on to his dream, and you have to appreciate that. Here's a pair of new stills from his upcoming proof of concept trailer, which we should see soon.

In the movie ex-con Rob Locksley returns home after a six-year absence to find his town under the rule of vampires. He must join forces with his old roughneck hunting buddies to wage war against the evil sheriff and his horde of blood-sucking minions.

Alma Saraci takes on the role of Marian, an elitist vampire, who is taken hostage by Locksley and his companions and begins to see Rob as someone worthy of being by her side. DJ Perry, Bill McKinney, Taymour Ghazi, Terry Jernigan, Mike Powers, Paul Proios, and Austin Two-Feathers co-star.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen. Robin Hood, Robin Hood, must dodge the blood-sucking. 'Sherwood Horror' has long been sitting on the pre-production fence but it finally looks as though it's making progress on casting its Maid Marion, in the form of Albanian actress Alma Saraci (below) ('Spiral', 'Diary of a Serial Killer'). Saraci is currently in negotiations for the role in the classic tale with a vampire contemporary horror spin to it. If confirmed she'll be joining the likes of Bill McKinney, Taymour Ghazi, DJ Perry, Terry Jernigan, Paul Proios, Austin Two Feathers and Mike Powers....

We've been bringing you news on the modern day Robin Hood with vampires flick Sherwood Horror for over a year now. Filming has still yet to commence. Today we were sent word that the film has finally found its Maid Marion -- an actress I've never heard of.

Never mind the bloated version of Robin Hood in theatres now; what you're really looking for is some quality time with a more murderous kind of merry men, right? If so, you'll be happy to hear that some more casting news and concept art have come in for John Regan's Sherwood Horror. Dig it!

He must join forces with his old roughneck hunting buddies to wage war against the evil Sheriff and his horde of blood-sucking minions.

Paul Proios (Gps, Dean Teaster's Ghost Town) is in talks to take on the role of Guy Gisborne, Nottingham's wicked deputy and right-hand vampire.

We continue getting updates on the progress of Sherwood Horror, a modern day horror version of Robin Hood with an ex-con Robin Hood type getting out of jail and returning to his hometown now ruled by vampires. The film has yet to begin shooting, but it looks like that is about to change given a special effects artist is now onboard and we have a look at the conceptual art of the vampirized Sheriff Nottingham.

The cast continues to grow for John Regan's Sherwood Horror, a contemporary set re-imagining of the Robin Hood legend with bite.

Ex-con Rob Locksley (DJ Perry) returns home after a six-year absence to find his town under the rule of vampires. He must join forces with his old roughneck hunting buddies to wage war against the evil Sheriff and his horde of blood-suckers.

Newcomer Mike Powers is set to join Taymour Ghazi as one of Locksley's merry men. Powers will play Will, Locksley's impulsive younger cousin, who fronts a punk band "Scarlet Fever" in a small southern town. He also happens to be quick-witted and deadly with a dagger.

Powers is co-host of The Mike And Bob Show on 96x, one of the top rated radio talk shows in Virginia. Regan adds "After screen-testing different actors, it became apparent that Mike had the versatility and traits needed to bring Will Scarlet to life.

John Regan's Sherwood Horror adds Mike Powers and Taymour Ghazi to the cast that already includes DJ Perry (8th Plague). This film reenvisions the myth of Robin Hood and in Sherwood Horror this band of merry men will do battle with the Sheriff's cohort of blood-sucking vampires. Mike Powers is to play the dashing Will Scarlet and the film has already been described as "a Robin Hood...with bite."
