Thirty years after “Homicide: Life on the Street” hit the airwaves, a UK filmmaker and podcaster and a Baltimore camera assistant decided it was time to revisit the groundbreaking drama that garnered numerous awards during its seven seasons on NBC. Their new monthly behind-the-scenes podcast, Homicide: Life on the Set, premieres in March, focusing on creators and crew, including engaging conversations with camera, lighting and sound techs, creators, writers, actors, directors and more, including Jean de Segonzac, Tom Fontana and Kyle Secor.
“In early 2023, I started researching and developing a concept for a UK-based police film,” filmmaker Chris Carr said. “Always a huge fan of ‘Homicide,’ especially its gritty, cinéma-vérité shooting style, I started looking for a camera crew member to interview about how the show was shot. Susan Ingram, a camera assistant, agreed to talk with me and that’s how we got cracking.”

Showtime’s Boston-based crime drama City On A Hill may take place in the 1990s, but today’s conversations about racism and police corruption will find relevance in the series’ upcoming second season, executive producer and showrunner Tom Fontana revealed.
On Tuesday, Fontana joined Aldis Hodge, Kevin Bacon, Jill Hennessy, Pernell Walker and Lauren E. Banks, and executive producer Jennifer Todd to tease the sophomore season. While season two won’t explicitly cite the Black Lives Matter movement or George Floyd’s murder, given that it’s set in the 90s, Fontana said the City On a Hill team has approached the season’s storylines with a current-day lens.
“We went back to the scripts and did another draft of every script with the input of all the actors to make sure that we were reflecting what was going on in America now but with perspective of it being in the 90s,...

Assistant District Attorney Decourcy Ward (Aldis Hodge) is still trying to clean up a Boston bureaucracy rife with corruption, and FBI Agent Jackie Rohr (Kevin Bacon) is still trying to do things the old way, his way, not exactly the legal way.

"O.C.T." is being developed with both women attached as executive producers. Though "O.C.T." -- an acronym for the NYPD’s Occult Crimes Taskforce -- is still in its early stages, it is being considered as a star vehicle for the Sin City actress.
The scripted drama, an increasingly appealing genre for the cable network, will explore the inner workings of the task force, which was established after the Civil War to make the New York City streets safe from practitioners of black magic,...

It's been rumored for quite some time that AMC planned to bring Martin Scorsese's Academy Award nominated mob flick Goodfellas to the small screen but the speculation is over. The television network is moving forward with the adaptation although no production schedule was given. Nicholas Pileggi, who adapted his book Wiseguy into the screenplay for Goodfellas, is reportedly co-writing the pilot script with Jorge Zamacona. Irwin Winkler produced the motion picture and is on board the television show as executive producer alongside his son David Winkler. Warner Horizon Television will produce the series. I'm anxious to see who will land roles in the new series. The 1990 motion picture starred Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Stay tuned!

AMC to Bring Goodfellas to the Small Screen
AMC has experienced success with both original ideas (Mad Men, Breaking Bad) and with adaptations from graphic novels (The Walking Dead) and international TV shows (The Killing) and it looks like the network is opting for the adaptation option with the development of a Goodfellas TV series.
Deadline exclusively reports that original screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi is on board to co-write the project. This is a story that is close to Pileggi's heart as the film was based on his non-fiction book Wiseguy. The project will be co-written with Jorge Zamacona (Homicide: Life on the Street) and will see the film's original producers Irwin and David Winkler performing the same role on the TV adaptation. Director Martin Scorsese is not attached to this new version of his hit film.

AMC is developing a "Goodfellas" TV series, set before the events of director Martin Scorsese's 1990 film of the same name.
The "Goodfellas" TV series will focus on the early years of the characters growing up in the 1960's, written by crime reporter Nicholas Pileggi, writer of the original film and author of the 1986 non-fiction book "Wiseguy" that the film was based on.
Pileggi will also produce the series with Jorge Zamacona and the original film's producer Irwin Winkler.
Scorsese's "Goodfellas" followed the rise and fall of 'Lucchese' crime family associates 'Henry Hill' and his friends over a period from 1955 to 1980. Characters include 'Jimmy Conway', 'Tommy DeVito', 'Paulie Cicero', 'Frankie Carbone', 'Sonny Bunz', 'Billy Batts' and 'Morrie Kessler'.

AMC, home of "Mad Men", "The Walking Dead" and "Breaking Bad", is developing a TV series based on arguably Martin Scorsese's most universally acclaimed feature - the 1990 mob classic "Goodfellas" reports Deadline.
The original film followed the rise and fall of the Lucchese crime family associate Henry Hill (Liotta) and his friends from 1955 to 1980. No word on how much this will tie-in to the original film content wise.
Nicholas Pileggi and Irwin Winkler, who wrote and produced the film respectively, are teaming with writer-producer Jorge Zamacona ("Homicide: Life On The Street") to executive produce.

Things have been awfully quiet since the first announcement, back in September 2010, of a Goodfellas TV adaptation in development. We began to suspect that it might have been fitted with a concrete overcoat and left to sink to the bottom of a convenient river. But good(fellas) news! The show has now been put into development by Mad Men/Breaking Bad cable network AMC.Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote the film based on his book Wiseguy, is officially confirmed aboard the show, planning to write the pilot with Homicide: Life On The Street veteran Jorge Zamacona. There’s no word on exactly which part of Henry Hill’s saga the series would cover, but if it makes it to the air, there’s plenty of scope to tell the story of the Lucchese crime family from its early days in the 1960s to its fall. And it’s not the only...
