- [talking about his movie Monte Walsh (2003)]: "It's a story of clearly delineated characters, and you get to know and love these cowboys. You share their ups, their downs and the way they deal with their changing way of life. Also, this story is a bit richer in terms of the setting. This is a green Western, as opposed to a hot, dusty one. There is plenty of dust, but it's set in Wyoming with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, so it's quite spectacular to look at. The landscapes are very much a character in this, and there are all kinds of interesting elements that bring together a very rich story."
