HBO's hit series The Last of Us has released a new trailer along with a release date for the upcoming Season 2. With the original series premiering almost two years ago in January 2023, viewers have patiently waited for any and all news regarding the second season, which is set to adapt the second video game, The Last of Us Part II. Now, a brief new teaser trailer has given us a new look at the upcoming series and the official release date, April 2025.

The Last of Us Part II was a game plagued by controversial discourse regarding its subject matter and characters, primarily due to story leaks after a hacker broke into the servers of Naughty Dog, the video game company that created the series. Many of the story choices in the video game have been heavily discussed to this day, making the upcoming second season, which will adapt it, all the more interesting.

New reports reveal plans for a third season of HBO's massively popular series The Last of Us, with filming dates and locations now released.

According to Production Bulletin, not only is the third season of The Last of Us already in the works, but it also reportedly has a production start scheduled for Summer 2025. This is particularly surprising since Season 2 of the series has yet to premiere, but it highlights HBO's confidence in the franchise. Season 2 of The Last of Us, starring Pedro Pascal, is currently set to premiere in Spring 2025. This could mean that production on Season 3 may begin shortly after the final episode of Season 2 airs on HBO next year.

Joel, Ellie, and the rest of The Last of Us cast are returning to TV screens next spring.

Per IGN, HBO's Casey Bloys confirmed at a 2025 programming slate presentation that The Last of Us season 2 will premiere in spring 2025, though an exact month and date weren't announced. By comparison, it was also announced that season 2 of James Gunn's DC series Peacemaker will drop in August, making it the third Dcu project released after Creature Commandos and Gunn's Superman movie starring David Corenswet.

The second season of the highly-anticipated video game adaptation is getting nearer.

The Last of Us and Peacemaker were among several returning shows teased in a recent 'Coming to Max in 2025' promo, with additional footage previewing Dune: Prophecy, The White Lotus, Hacks, and The Gilded Age and new shows like It: Welcome to Derry.

The Last of Us premiered in 2023 and it was a major success, as the Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey-led adaptation of the popular did justice to its source material. Given its success, Max renewed the series, which will return in 2025 with Season 2.

On Nov. 11, Max debuted a teaser trailer for the upcoming titles that will come on the platform in 2025. The streaming service offered a sneak peek at several new series, including the new Game of Thrones spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and Stephen King's It prequel series, It: Welcome to Derry. At the same time, it featured sneak peeks at new seasons from returning series like The White Lotus Season 3, And Just Like That Season 3, and The Last of Us Season 2.

Fans excited about the upcoming God of War television series will seemingly have to wait a little longer as the series is undergoing major changes behind the scenes and starting over from scratch. News of a television series broke in March 2022, and while things were originally moving smoothly, the series has hit a major speed bump.

According to Deadline, showrunner/executive producer Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus turned in multiple scripts for God of War before exiting the series. The poster artwork is by Greg Ruth, and there are three to showcase the main characters of The Last of Us Season 2. I’ll admit I have a soft spot for the scarecrow film. Kevin Sorbo leads the cast of this Canadian sci-fi film.

For the moment, no release date has been announced for this film, which is based on a comic book by Canadian writer Christos N. Gage.

The story is about a detective, Sean Nault (Kevin Sorbo), who investigates on a series of weird murders that were committed with the help of science. Because he lives on a parallel Earth, Nault only knows what magic is. In his investigation, he's helped by Leonore (Steph Song), a person who believes that science has its place in society. During their mission, both will be led to another dimension and they must hurry before both Earths get destroyed.

The film also stars Christopher Judge, Alan C. Peterson, Alisen Down, Jerry Wasserman, Michael St. John Smith, David Richmond-Peck, Vladmir Moskovchenko, Kanji Nimet, Keith Dallas, Adrian Holmes, Jeny Cassady, Sean Tyson and Gerry Durand.

PARK CITY, Utah -- Fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, two parties, twice the angst and generational foolishness. With such an agenda, Canadian writer-director Gary Burns ("The Suburbanators") delivers a watchable-but-uninvolving, low-budget independent comedy-drama that served as the opening-night fare at the Slamdance Film Festival.

"Kitchen Party" has a few memorably chaotic moments, but it's marred by uneven performances by an ensemble cast of veterans and newcomers as well as an unwieldy scenario that unfolds in one afternoon and evening. Its theatrical prospects are lackluster at best.

While some issues raised are pertinent, most of the subjects -- particularly the adults -- are caricatures with one or two defining aspects, resulting in predictable confrontations and complications that could have been funnier and more insightful.

On his way to college if he can stay out of trouble, Scott Scott Speedman) is the busy host of a beer-and-babes party when his parents go to an overnight gathering of their own. With bud Wayne (Tygh Runyan) and new flame Tammy (Laura Harris), Scott and others chat over brews in the kitchen, with the immaculately cleaned and arranged living room strictly off-limits.

Also taboo is any contact with Scott's loser older brother Steve Jason Wiles), who resides in the basement consuming drugs and listening to loud, abrasive music. In an ongoing series of encounters, while Scott is busy running errands and dealing with crises, Tammy gets chummy with Steve offscreen and eventually they leave together.

At the other party, the parents drink and gab, and it gets ugly. Scott's blowhard father (Kevin McNulty) insults macho host Lester (Jerry Wasserman) when he makes an offhand joke. Lester's supposedly well-raised son keeps a collection of pubic hairs from his conquests, and the mere suggestion they might not be female sends his dad into a righteous fit of anger.

The mothers, including Scott's tolerant, combative crusader-mom (Gillian Barber), are the least satisfying ingredient in the brew, and the younger female characters are whiny, devious or drunk. Vehicular mishaps and deliberate destruction of property and establishment symbols (golf courses, vintage cars, living rooms) ensue courtesy of unpredictable Steve and brooding Lester Jr. (Dave Cox). Cops and a gun are worked into the plot, but thankfully there's no escalation to serious violence.

As a dysfunctional community demolition derby, "Kitchen Party" shows the ups and downs of rebellious acts in a stifling suburban environment, but it's not so darkly comic that it makes a lasting impression or breaks new ground.
