Exclusive: CBC has put a third season of time-bending anthology drama Plan B into production.

Kotv its returning to produce the season, which will feature a new lead cast of Carolina Bartczak (Painkiller, X-Men: Apocalypse), Arnold Pinnock (The Porter, Combat Hospital) and Ennis Esmer (Children Ruin Everything, Blindspot).

Additional casting includes Arianna Shannon making her screen debut, Jaeden Noel (Orphan Black: Echoes, Invasion), Carolyn Taylor (Baroness von Sketch Show, I Have Nothing) and Grace Lynn Kung (Sort Of, Fallout).

Production is now underway in Montreal, with six episodes planned. The show is an adaptation of the French-language drama series of the same name, which is now in its fourth season for Radio-Canada.

Once in the town of Independence, Texas, Abby quickly realizes that everyone she encounters there seems to be keeping secrets and making allies, like con artist Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr) and Apache tracker Calian (Justin Johnson Cortez), is imperative to her survival. And while Hoyt was initially suspicious of Abby’s true intentions, he learns that nothing is what it seems in the small frontier town and that seeking justice just might be the only thing that will keep them alive.

Katherine McNamara is no stranger to worlds far removed from our reality, having starred in sci-fi fantasy series “Arrow” from The CW and Freeform’s “Shadowhunters.” Her role in “Walker: Independence,” the 1870s-set prequel series to The CW’s “Walker” starring Jared Padalecki, is akin to her previous portrayals — in heart and strength — even if she’s trading leather jackets for corset dresses.

“Abby is very much a woman who has agency in a time when a lot of women didn’t,” McNamara told TheWrap in an interview, “and a woman who’s thrust into a situation she wasn’t prepared for and into a world that she knows nothing about and has to find her way and make a family and build something out of a tragedy.”

The prequel to “Walker” takes viewers back some hundred years to the late 19th century, on the frontiers of the Wild West in the eponymous Texas town. Following the brutal killing of her husband, the would-be sheriff of Independence, the determined Abigail must band together with an eclectic group of residents — like the charming criminal Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr) and trusted Apache adviser Calian (Justin Johnson Cortez) — and figure out who she can trust in exacting justice against Sheriff Tom Davidson (Greg Hovanessian), a hypocritical lawman with shady business dealings.
