Whoa! Joey's intervention didn't go at all as expected.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 12 once again proved that this is the best series on television, at least until it moves to its new home on Peacock.
Stabler and Randall went vigilante to force Joey into sobriety, but they got a lot more than they bargained for. Now everything's in place for a season finale that may be literally explosive!
Stabler and Randall Made a Desperate Move
They'd had enough of Joey's nonsense, especially after learning he might have been involved in Sam's death, but also managed to break the tension with humor.
After Joey went on that high-speed chase and was overpowered by them, Randall walked in and casually said, "Hi, Joe." That had to be one of the funniest lines ever.
Joey's withdrawals were serious, though. His physical illness, anger, and violent attempts to escape felt realistic.

Tate Ellington had told us that the technical difficulties suffered by the team in the last episode would continue going forward, and TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the May 9 episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime shows just that. Jet (Ainsley Seiger) passes the laptop from the Boone farm to Vargas (Ellington). “If we can find a pattern in the heroin smuggling routes, maybe we can narrow down where and when the Emery shipment’s coming in,” she says. Then an Atf agent comes in to speak with Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), but she quickly shuts him down when he starts talking about sharing information and being transparent in their joint operation. However, Vargas panicking—”This is not happening!”—puts a stop to that. Watch the full sneak peek above to find out how big of a problem this is. In “Goodnight,” Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Randall (Dean Norris...

Before FBI was renewed for three more seasons and the franchise took its time bringing the focus back to Rina’s murder and the Vargas cartel (sending Jeremy Sisto‘s Jubal over to International just a few episodes ago), we might have thought it could wrap up the premiere’s case this spring. Now, we’ll be surprised if it does. Still, CBS has released the official description for the Season 6 finale, titled “Ring of Fire” and airing on May 21, and it is all about that open case. “The Somalian terrorist group behind the death of Agent Hobbs resurfaces, sending the team on a chase to take them down for good,” teases the network. That ties into what John Boyd (who plays Stuart Scola) told TV Insider. “I’m hoping that we tie up some supervillains and get some people that got away. That would be cool,” he said. Season...

They did it again.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 10 offered suspense that made it impossible to look away for a second.
It's not often that an hour of television is this riveting. The suspense was only one of many reasons this episode was must-see TV.
Most crime shows follow set patterns, including the rest of the Law & Order franchise. There's nothing wrong with that, but Law & Order: Organized Crime is refreshing because it breaks the mold.
There were almost no tired TV tropes during the hour, even if there was one twist that I feel like I should have seen coming.
Throughout the hour, Stabler continually earned more of Angus' trust. That was good news for his case but may not be great news for him personally, especially considering what happened to Sam.
The closer he gets to Angus, the more likely it is he will...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: International Season 3 Episode 8 “Remove the Compromise.”] After going after the cartel responsible for his girlfriend Rina’s death on FBI, does Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) have any sense of closure with the latest International episode? Not necessarily. Upon hearing there’s an ongoing investigation into the Vargas family—Antonio (David Zayas) is behind bars—Jubal hops a flight to Budapest. Once there, he’s tested with the CIA planning to just take out the nephew about to take over (and anyone else at a weapons sale) with a missile. When it becomes clear that the CIA doesn’t care about collateral damage, however, Scott (Luke Kleintank) insists on putting himself in the line of fire and Jubal eventually joins him, resulting in a shootout—yes, Jubal in the field, in the middle of the action, something we don’t usually see! Indigo Reign will focus on elevated projects with social impact and multicultural representation, producing stories in the U.S., Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. The company will be active across film, television, commercials, podcasts, interactive, gaming, and music videos. Vargas and Reyes will serve as co-CEOs, with Emmy-winning cinematographer Jimmy A. Change is always difficult, and doubly so if your name's Elliot Stabler.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 1 began with the oft-repeated beat of Stabler getting into trouble on an undercover mission.
But things started to get interesting once Stabler returned to the office and met the new AI guy.
Unsurprisingly, Jet was cool with the new tech, while Reyes and Stabler had doubts. However, Vargas and his software open storyline possibilities while reflecting trends in real-life policing.
I was glad that Jet and Bell understood that AI is morally neutral -- it's a tool, and whether it's helpful or harmful depends on the data it's fed and what its capabilities are used for.
Whether anyone likes it or not, AI is here to stay -- and human rights advocates fear police could misuse it. That alone makes this storyline worth it; Organized Crime could explore all facets of this issue.

Kathryn Bernardo, known as the Queen of Philippines Cinema, and Triangle Of Sadness star Dolly de Leon are both almost unrecognizable in their new movie, A Very Good Girl, which Abs-cbn and Star Cinema are opening at the U.S. box office today (October 6).
Bernardo, who is famous for her roles in romantic dramas, plays a woman hell bent on revenge against a former employer who sacked her – a glamorous retail tycoon called Mother Molly, played by De Leon. Madison De La Garza, who gained television fame as a child star thanks to her role on ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” opened up to journalist and former “20/20” anchor Elizabeth Vargas on the “Heart of the Matter” podcast about battling cyberbullying and an eating disorder following her run on the show (via Entertainment Weekly). De La Garza appeared on four seasons of “Desperate Housewives” as Juanita Solis, the daughter of Eva Longoria’s character, Gabrielle Solis.
De La Garza took over the role of Gabrielle’s daughter in Season 5, when the show jumped ahead five years from the previous season. She was only 6 years old at the time. The actor stayed in the role through the final season of “Desperate Housewives,” which ended in May 2012.
Although she was just a child, De La Garza told Vargas she would often sneak onto the computer and check websites like TMZ and YouTube for hours,...

Madison De La Garza is reflecting on her time as a child star on Desperate Housewives and how cyberbullying from viewers led to her “developing an eating disorder at a very young age.”
The actress — who was as young as 6 years old when she portrayed Juanita Solis, the daughter to Eva Longoria’s Gabrielle “Gaby” Solis, on the ABC series — appeared on the most recent episode of Elizabeth Vargas’ Heart of the Matter podcast to talk about her journey to sobriety. During the 45-minute episode, De La Garza opened up about her personal drug use and experiences with addiction, as well as the decision to turn to her sister Demi Lovato after De La Garza sought treatment.
Toward the end of the discussion, the Bad Teacher actress touched on her time starring on Desperate Housewives with Vargas, recalling how she experienced cyberbullying about her weight under the guise of concern for her health.

Star Wars Celebration wrapped up earlier today, and one of the day's biggest panels was for the upcoming second season of "Star Wars: Visions." We're getting nine new episodes in May, and while the last season came from Japanese creators, this time, the animated shorts come from all around the globe.
One of the writer/directors that appeared on the "Star Wars: Visions" panel was Gabriel Osorio, representing his Punkrobot animation studio in Chile. Vargas created the third episode in the upcoming second season, entitled "In the Stars." The story, some of which you can see in the trailer, features two young sisters, one of whom clearly has enough Force powers to attempt to take on a Tie fighter.

With over 20 years under her belt as an anchor, Elizabeth Vargas is setting her sights on nuanced, contextual reporting with NewsNation’s newly launched “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” hoping to avoid “falling into the trap” of extreme partisanship.
“I am not going to be sharing my opinions — I never have in my career, and I don’t plan on starting” with “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” Vargas told TheWrap. “It’ll be an in-depth look at the most important stories of the day … I think what we want to avoid [is] falling into the trap of being highly partisan in the way we cover it.”
“Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” which launches April 3 and airs weeknights at 6 p.m. Et, will present an hour-long deep dive of the most important stories to people across the country, not just the Beltway, Vargas notes, featuring live interviews that provide “nuance and context” to the day’s news. Elizabeth Vargas spent more than 20 years at ABC News, including stints co-anchoring World News Tonight, hosting 20/20 and news anchoring Good Morning America.
Tonight, she will return to the breakneck pace of a daily news show, but this time on a network that captures a fraction of the broadcast network audience and even that of larger cable news rivals.

The new New York studio that Nexstar Media Group built for Elizabeth Vargas’ nascent NewsNation program is so big, the anchor believes she could do five cartwheels across if called upon to do so. Starting Monday night, the company begins the process of figuring out if such rigorous calisthenics will be necessary.
TV-news aficionados likely know Vargas from her 15-year stint as a co-anchor on ABC News’ “20/20,” but on Monday night, she will jump right into the fray in the information wars, with a program at 6 p.m. eastern – a time slot that has become more competitive in recent months. At MSNBC, for example, Ari Melber’s “The Beat” has become one of that network’s most-watched programs. Late-afternoon has become more of a cable-news battlefield as viewers who have learned to work from home after the coronavirus pandemic tune in earlier to get a recap of the day’s events.

Elizabeth Vargas thinks there’s room for a new evening newscast.
“I think a lot of people feel like they’re just being ignored or they’re turned off by the extreme nature of just one side, or the two extremes arguing with each other,” Vargas tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I think there’s a way to cover what’s happening right now in this country and around the world in a smart way. That doesn’t devolve into shouting matches or, you know, political talking points that aren’t really even related in many cases, to the events that we’re covering.”
Vargas, a veteran TV news correspondent and anchor (she succeeded the legendary Barbara Walters as the anchor of ABC’s 20/20), will launch her new show Elizabeth Vargas Reports on NewsNation Monday during the critical evening news window of 6 to 7 p.m.
“It’s the newscast of record for NewsNation every day.

Exclusive: Jorge Vargas (‘Snowpiercer’), Tanaya Beatty (‘Yellowstone,’), and Skywalker Hughes (‘Joe Pickett’) are rounding out the previously announced cast of Academy Award winner Andrew Stanton’s In The Blink of an Eye starring Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones, and Daveed Diggs. Principal photography has now commenced in British Columbia.
The movie follows three storylines, spanning thousands of years, intersect and reflect on hope, connection and the circle of life. Jared Ian Goldman (Ingrid Goes West, ‘Russian Doll’) produces the pic written and executive produced by Colby Day (Spaceman).
“From the first read I knew Colby Day’s script was special,” said Stanton, “and it has only become more rarified of a project as our team has formed. What a privilege to have such an ideal cast and crew realize this beautiful story.”
“Andrew is a visionary artist whose unique gifts as a storyteller shine in this beautiful film,” added Searchlight Presidents Matthew Greenfield and David Greenbaum.
