Five Sitcoms That Introduced a New Cute Kid When the Original Cute Kid Got Too Old
Image
Being a kid on a sitcom is tough. If you manage to dodge addiction issues and kleptomaniacal parents, one thing will still always be gunning for you: Father Time. When sitcoms center around a family with at least one young child, a decent percentage of its humor usually comes from the young kid saying impossibly pithy lines crafted by adults.

But as the kid gets older, they often get less cute and their character is forced to change. So, where do all those snarky remarks and cutesy moments go? The solution is usually the same: bring in a brand-new cute kid regardless how much shoe-horning you need to do.

It’s happened a lot in sitcoms — like, dozens of them — but here are five of the best examples...

1 The Brady Bunch

The most famous example of this is Cousin Oliver (Robbie Rist) fromThe Brady Bunch, who was introduced in Season Five,...

1 Major Tommy Trait in Fuller House Has a Hilarious Real-Life Reason Most Fans Don't Know
Image
Fuller Housewas a Netflix original series that ran for five seasons. The show was essentially a "where are they now?" for fans of Full House. D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron-Bure) is now a veterinarian with her own practice, Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) is an international deejay and aspiring singer, and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) runs a party planning business. When D.J.'s husband dies in the line of duty, Stephanie and Kimmy move in to help her raise her three kids: Jackson, Max, and Tommy. Kimmy also brings along her own daughter, Ramona. Meanwhile, Danny Tanner, Jesse, Rebecca, and the twins, and Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) also pop in on various episodes. Steve Hale (Scott Weinger) is also back to bring a "will-they-or-won't-they" romantic dynamic for D.J.

The child stars of Fuller House bring a lot of heart to their characters. They also have impressive comedic timing with their line deliveries.

'Full House' Cast Reunion Photo, Olsen Twins May Return
Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, and Jodie Sweetin in La Fête à la maison: 20 ans après (2016)
Will they or won't they return? That's the big question facing Fuller House and the Olsen Twins as production gets underway on the Full House reunion series for Netflix. As of now, every main cast member is set to appear in some capacity, except for Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen. Prevoiusly, the two actresses who played Michelle Tanner hinted that they wanted nothing to do with the new sitcom, which is being shot in front of a live audience. But those reports were exaggerated. Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos had this to say about the impending 13 episode run.

"[Mary-Kate and Ashley] are teetering on whether or not they'll be around."

Executive producer Robert L. Boyett announced back in May that the pair would not be reprising their shared iconic role. He called the sisters 'part of the family' and reiterated that the original show still means a lot to them. Boyett...

Tom Bergeron is stepping down as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, leaving the coveted spot open (hey, it’s about as steady as a showbiz job gets). When thinking of who should replace him, our minds immediately went to Bob Saget, who hosted the show from 1989 to 1997, but then we thought: What if every Full House star — not just Danny Tanner — was eligible for the position? After all, this has already been the year of Full House reunions with Saget, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier’s multiple TV appearances together and the upcoming Candace Cameron Bure/Scott Weinger guest spots on The Neighbors.

Neither Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen attended the party. How rude! Also not spotted: The twins who played Nicky and Alex, Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit.According to Blake's Twitter, he wasn't even invited. He now lives in Georgia, so probably wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. The bash was marked with some other '90s nostalgia as well -- including a "drunk" New Kids on the Block singalong!Check out...
