Geralyn Marie Betzler worked on several movies throughout the ’80s and ’90s. On her first feature, 1985’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, she was credited by her full birth name, but as her screen acting career went on she would take credit as either Geri Betzler or Zoe Trilling – and it’s that second name that most fans seem to know her by. Among her credits are episodes of Guiding Light, 21 Jump Street, and Married… with Children, and the films Amityville Horror: The Evil Escapes, They Came from Outer Space, The Borrower, Dr. Giggles, Night Terrors, Hellbound, and Leprechaun 3 – but her most popular role may be in the 1994 horror comedy Night of the Demons 2, where she stole the show as bad girl Shirley Finnerty. Sadly, just as Night of the Demons 2 is reaching Blu-ray courtesy of Scream Factory, it has been confirmed that Betzler / Trilling passed away...

Twice a month Joe Lipsett will dissect a new Amityville Horror film to explore how the “franchise” has evolved in increasingly ludicrous directions. This is “The Amityville IP.”
What’s fun about writing this series based on first time watches is that I only have a cursory awareness of the weird places the franchise goes. When Amityville is discussed in horror circles, you hear about “the one with the clock” or “the one with the dollhouse,” as well as insinuations that at some point the films go completely off the rail.
That means that pressing play on each successive entry is accompanied by an “is this it?” question: Is this one of the infamous entries? Is this where the franchise loses its way?
I’m happy to report that while The Evil Escapes isn’t a great film, it certainly isn’t a horrible entry in the series. If anything,...

The final month of 2022 is already upon us, and December brings plenty of horror offerings beyond holiday fare- though expect some bloody fun there, too. Whether you’re in the mood to play catch-up on 2022 releases or looking for the deep cuts, this month has it all.
Here are ten noteworthy horror titles available for streaming in November 2022 on some of the most popular streaming services, along with when/where you can watch them.
Tobe Hooper’s Night Terrors – Screambox (December 1)
Robert Englund stars as the Marquis de Sade and his descendent in this strange, underseen feature by Tobe Hooper. Our own Patrick Bromley wrote about the film earlier this year. He wrote, “Hooper was a last-minute replacement for this offbeat horror movie, which attempts to bridge flashbacks of the Marquis de Sade with the modern-day story of a young woman (Zoe Trilling) who gets involved with a weird sex...

The late Tobe Hooper might best be known for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Poltergeist, but he directed more than a handful of classics, including the awesome 1993 horror Night Terrors, starring none other than A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s Robert Englund.
Patrick Bromley wrote about the film for Bloody Disgusting earlier this year, which follows a woman visiting her father in Egypt who becomes involved with Marquis De Sade’s (Robert Englund) descendant and his terrifying cult.
Patrick explains, “Hooper was a last-minute replacement for this offbeat horror movie, which attempts to bridge flashbacks of the Marquis de Sade with the modern-day story of a young woman (Zoe Trilling) who gets involved with a weird sex cult (led by Englund in the second of his dual roles).”
Night Terrors isn’t the first time Hooper and Englund worked together as they linked up on the pilot for “Freddy’s Nightmares...

I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I can often spend hours upon hours trawling through iTunes looking for new movies to buy… Usually I’ll randomly come across a title I haven’t seen in years and use the “Cast & Crew” links to make my way down the rabbit hole to the more obscure side of Apple’s digital movie service.
Now whilst many will decry that iTunes is a terrible VOD service due to Apple’s desire to lock its audience to their platforms, if you have an Apple TV or iPad be aware – there are some truly obscure films hidden away in the depths of the vast collection of movies. Some of which have been made available in the UK for the first time since VHS and a Lot that have been added to the service in their original uncut form!

Fans of early 1990’s direct-to-video sequels and early 1980’s European Nazi zombie flicks have reason to celebrate this February as Night of the Demons 2, Jean Rollin’s Zombie Lake, and Jesus Franco’s Oasis of the Zombies make their debut on Blu-ray.
First up on February 19th, Olive Films is set to give the Blu-ray treatment to Night of the Demons 2, director Brian Trenchard-Smith’s well-regarded 1994 direct-to-video sequel starring Christi Harris, Amerlia Kinkade, Robert Jayne, Zoe Trilling, and a pre-Mrs. Ben Stiller Christine Taylor.
In this diabolical sequel to the popular shocker, the students from St. Rita's Academy throw a party at a haunted house, only to have it disrupted by Angela, the hostess from Hell, and her ghoulish pals. The kids try to find refuge at a teen dance, but things get even scarier there! Bobby Jacoby and Amelia Kinkade star in this special effects-filled terrorthon...
