Based on Terry Pratchett's first children's novel, "The Amazing Maurice" follows a talking cat named — you guessed it — Maurice (Hugh Laurie). Maurice leads his merry band of rats, who also talk, to various towns. They have a successful money-making scheme, as the rats take over the town like a plague, and their friend, the Pied Piper (Himesh Patel) lures them away with his music, which spurns the townsfolk to shower him with riches. They're all in on the scheme, and they share the money, unbeknownst to those ponying up the cash.
There's something mysterious afoot in the next town the gang plans to scheme. All the food seems to have gone missing. It's here that Piper and Maurice meet Malicia (Emilia Clarke), who sets up the story as our narrator. Malicia breaks the fourth wall and informs the audience that the narrator can be part of the story too.

With another WrestleMania weekend comes another Hall of Fame ceremony, and this year of course saw the likes of The Godfather, Jacqueline, The Big Boss Man, The Fabulous Freebirds and Sting join the group’s elite ranks.
If arguably not quite as star-studded as some recent shows, it was still a riveting sit for the most part, and gave us plenty more insight into not only the business as a whole but who these wrestlers are as people.
From revelations about the Ultimate Warrior’s diet to bizarre wrestling merchandise and some hilarious, business-exposing moments, the anecdotes, the mishaps and one unfortunate-but-inevitable announcement made it a must-see for any card-carrying wrestling fan.

WWE have revealed that former wrestling manager Slick will be the man to induct The Big Boss Man into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
A memorable character from the 80s, Slick managed the Boss Man for his first couple of years in WWF. Nicknamed “The Doctor Of Style”, the storyline went that Slick brought the former corrections officer from Cobb County, Georgia to deliver hard times to the World Wrestling Federation.
After a successful run as a singles competitor, Slick would then pair Boss Man with Akeem to form the gigantic tag team, The Twin Towers. Their partnership would come to an end in 1990, when Slick attempted to sell the Boss Man’s services to The Million Dollar Man.

WWE have revealed that former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Vader will be the man to induct Stan Hansen into the WWE Hall Of Fame in Dallas next month.
The connection between the two grapplers is clear. Way back in February 1990, Vader fought Hansen at an Ajpw versus Njpw supercard show where Hansen inadvertently poked Vader’s eye out of its socket with his right thumb, after getting carried away during an exchange of stiff exchanges.
Incredibly, Vader would continue the contest after removing his own mask to push the eyeball back into its socket and holding it in place with his eyelid. The match would continue and eventually end in a no-contest, with Vader eating needing a metal place to be surgically placed under his eye.
Those old enough to remember it can remind themselves of the brutal match below…

It’s long overdue in the minds of many, but Ray Traylor will finally be honoured as part of the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2016. Sadly, Traylor passed away on September 22, 2004, but he left behind a legacy as one of the best ‘big men’ in the history of the industry.
During his run in wrestling, the guy played many characters. Undoubtedly, he’s most famous for playing the role of the Big Boss Man in the WWF/E, but he also went performed the monikers Big Bubba Rogers, The Guardian Angel and even his own birth name during stints in WCW.
Regardless of what guise he was going under, fans usually referred to him as ‘Boss Man’ when discussing his work. Making his debut in 1985, it was actually none other than the ‘American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes who first noticed Ray Traylor. Rhodes felt the future star could become exactly that,...

Finally, twelve years after his untimely death, Ray ‘Big Boss Man’ Traylor is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, alongside already announced inductees The Godfather, The Fabulous Freebirds, and Sting. The Boss Man will be honored for his memorable contributions to the wrestling business over a career that spanned three decades.
Starting out in wrestling as a bodyguard for James E. Cornette in Jim Crockett Promotions, the Boss Man’s career would go on to reach huge heights in the late 80’s, when he would enjoy main event level feuds with such names as Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man” Savage.

Earlier today, WWE’s official Twitter account announced the newest inductee into the 2016 Hall of Fame class – Ray “Big Boss Man” Traylor.
One of the most beloved superstars of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Traylor first joined the company in 1988. A real-life ex-prison guard, Traylor was given the character of “The Big Boss Man” – a corrupt prison guard/law enforcement agent. He was a top heel for WWE until 1990, when he turned face and had well-remembered feuds with Mr. Perfect, The Mountie, and Nailz. He left the company in 1993, and after a brief tenure in All Japan Pro Wrestling, debuted in 1993. First called “The Boss,” Traylor subsequently took the names “The Guardian Angel” and “Big Bubba Rogers” following complaints from WWE.
In 1998, Traylor rejoined WWE, once again taking the “Big Boss Man” name. He changed his image, wearing a Swat-style uniform and serving as a personal bodyguard to Vince McMahon.

It’s been said that entertainers should never work with children or animals. The unpredictable nature of both makes it difficult to act around their spontaneous nature, making for several hilarious mishaps. For example, at the 1999 Unforgiven Pay-Per-View, Al Snow and The Big Boss Man faced one another in the curiously-titled ‘Kennel From Hell’ encounter.
The match was basically inside ‘Hell In A Cell’ but apparently-vicious dogs surrounded the ring. Basically, the idea was that these mutts would attack both Boss Man and Snow should they leave the ring, but the dogs were in a more playful mood. Instead of appearing violent, they defecated around ringside and actually appeared to get a little frisky on camera. It turned the match into a joke.
More from Snow and Boss Man features in this article, one which aims to look at 10 of the worst animal-related angles in wrestling history. It’s...

A new video posted by IGN has apparently revealed the (almost) full roster for WWE 2K16.
It is common knowledge now that the new game will have a bumper roster of 120 unique characters, but the list below falls a few short of that while Hulk Hogan is still a part of it. The Hulkster has been removed from the game altogether for reasons that you don’t need me to tell you about.
There are a number of shocking inclusions, including Superstars down the pecking order in Nxt and Attitude Era stars who had very little to do with cover star Stone Cold Steve Austin. While there are also a number of notable exclusions, including the Legion of Doom, who seemed to be nailed on for a place in the new title after leaked video footage appeared to show Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Jim Ross recording commentary...

The 1999 Royal Rumble took place at a time when WWE was firmly in control of the “Monday Night War” with rival WCW Monday Nitro. Thanks to the emergence of Steve Austin as the top babyface in the business and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as his chief rival, most wrestling fans were tuning in to see what was going to happen from week to week.
Going into the Rumble match, the big story was that somebody would get $100,000 for eliminating Austin from the match. Austin won the Rumble match the previous two years, so most people expected him to win it again just because we all figured he would main event WrestleMania 15. WWE knew what was obvious, so they decided to swerve us.
In the WWE Title picture, The Rock and Mankind had a number of matches together. Rock won the WWE Title at Survivor Series when he turned heel.

The 1993 Royal Rumble was a bit of a transitional event for WWE. The roster was very different from a year earlier because some of those guys were on short term deals while others were gone because WWE had to clean house due to the steroid investigation trial they were involved in.
It was a year where Bret Hart walked into the show as the WWE Champion. A year earlier he was in the Ic Title picture. He won the WWE Title for the first time in September 1992 and the company was ready to build around him as the new WWE Champion.
Yokozuna went into the Royal Rumble match as a heavy favourite. He only debuted in WWE a few months earlier and had one PPV match before the Rumble. Just based on his size, people just knew he was going to be a big deal in WWE.

The wrestling business is filled with stupid characters. We’ve seen plenty of them over the years and there are even some bad ones in WWE today. It’s part of the business. Vince McMahon and company will throw different types of characters out there to see what works. People that call him a genius might want to remember some of the bad gimmicks that WWE has put in the ring over the years.
There are many different types of stupid gimmicks, but the ones we’re looking at today are those that are based on real life occupations. It would seem like WWE has covered a lot of different fields by creating characters based on different kinds of jobs. It’s likely because they don’t want their characters to be too similar. Not everybody can be “Stone Cold” Steve Austin or The Rock. They need to...

When Thq took to nostalgia to revitalise their stagnating WWE video game franchise with the “Attitude Era” mode in WWE 2K13, they struck gold. All of a sudden the games weren’t just designed with current fans of the product in mind but now they were also designed to be as equally appealing to those who were a part of the most exciting time in the history of this business, but who at some time in the past decade or so moved on or grew out of wrestling.
What this smartly allowed the game makers was to market more than one generation of fans. Those who grew up with Stone Cold Steve Austin’s heated employee/owner feud with Vince McMahon in the late 90s and the brothers of destruction, The Undertaker and Kane, fighting over a sibling rivalry with their mentor Paul Bearer and the rise of D-Generation X...

When it comes to pro wrestling, most of us know it’s all predetermined fiction, we have a loose understanding of the business and how things work. We enjoy WWE for its narrative drama (and real backstage dramas) in the same way we might follow a popular sitcom and its stars. Wrestling is fake, it’s just common sense to know that, right?
Apparently not. We have unearthed the fans who still take it all very seriously, the people like this…
A cursory search of the internet reveals that there is a frightening amount of people who still believe in WWE as a real thing. Forget the Internet Wrestling Community and their ‘smartness’, the following screencaps are about to prove that the wrestling fandom is in some cases still living in the pre-1980s bubble of believing. The internet has proved a frightening place in exposing these fans crazy naivety.

A lot of people have been talking about Benjamin Morris’ 538 piece, “Are Pro Wrestlers Dying at an Unusual Rate?”
Like Morris, I am neither an actuarial scientist nor a demographer. So, our interpretations of the data should be taken with a grain of salt. My results were somewhat different from Morris’ due to a difference data set and changes in how we calculated actuarial predictions.

I also used Social Security Actuarial Life Tables, but my “expected mortality rates” for the age groups were not the same as Morris’. For each wrestler, I calculated what their age would have been as of today. Then, based on gender, I looked up the number of lives (out of 100,000) that were expected to still be alive and converted that to a percentage. His analysis looked at wrestlers who were on 20+ WWF PPVs through 2002. I went with a...

One of my personal favorite companies is Kyle Crawford's Electric Zombie, which has released some of the coolest t-shirts and products in recent years - including those horror icon Madballs we recently told you about. Like me, Kyle is both a huge fan of wrestling and horror, and in celebration of the WWE's 30th annual WrestleMania event - which took place last night (R.I.P. Undertaker) - he unloaded an entire line of timely goodies at the tail end of last week, which fuse together the worlds of pro wrestling and horror.
Dubbed 'Legends Never Die,' the line includes t-shirts, posters and even a special box set, with the highlight of the line being the two pillow pals you see pictured at the top of this post, depicting wrestling icons Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage as undead zombies. Mr Wrestlemania. That‘s a very bold claim for anybody to make, but if there’s one wrestler who can legitimately lay claim to this lofty title then it’s Shawn Michaels. Not only is he possibly the most consistently entertaining performer that the WWE has ever had, but he’s also the closest thing that the wrestling industry has had to a true rock star.
Never one to toe the line, Michaels has lived his bad boy persona in and out of the ring for the better part of three decades, a story that has been well documented in his 2006 autobiography Heartbreak and Triumph and the 2008 WWE DVD release of the same name. His in ring exploits have been similarly well documented in a number of retrospective collections over the last few years, but far from Shawn Michaels - Mr Wrestlemania being surplus to requirements, this is perhaps the...

The Undertaker’s 21-0 Wrestlemania undefeated streak is the last great record in professional wrestling. No male superstar will ever again match Bruno Sammartino’s combined 4,040 days as Wwwf champion. No wrestler regardless of gender will ever touch the Fabulous Moolah’s legendary 27-year reign as Women’s Champion. It’s unlikely that we’ll ever see the “Honky-Meter” again during an Intercontinental Championship reign. And no other wrestler it seems will be able to come close to the Phenom’s streak of wins at the “grandest stage of all.”
But he isn’t the only undefeated superstar at Wrestlemania. Sure, he’s undefeated with the most matches, but 16 other superstars have at least a 2-0 record (one victory does not a streak make) or better (not counting pre-show losses or Battle Royal eliminations.) Who are the others who can claim to...

When many people think of the great WrestleManias, a select number of events tend to pop up in the mind of most fans. WrestleMania X7 is probably the best WrestleMania of all time and a candidate for the best American wrestling PPV of all time. WrestleMania III is up there thanks to the spectacle of the Silverdome and a rather great event overall. That’s fine and dandy, but I’m going to throw a different WrestleMania into the mix. WrestleMania VII may be the best WrestleMania that nobody talks about.
First, let’s address the elephant in the room and one of the main reasons that most fans tend to shy away from WrestleMania: Gulfsploitation. I don’t even know if that is a word, but that is probably the best name for it. Taking Sgt. Slaughter who at that point had been portrayed as an American hero...

Hhh introduces the “Face of WWE”, Randy Orton, who hits the ring to pretty decent heat from the crowd before grabbing the microphone and talking about how Daniel Bryan is nothing more than a “B+ player”. In a few days time the WWE Universe will be witness to Bray Wyatt vs Kane in a ‘Ring Of Fire’ match… whatever that means? We can only assume that it’s likely to be similar to Kane’s previous Inferno match he had with The Undertaker in 1998, though if rumour is to be believed the match will end with a pin fall and not risk Husky Harris catching his beard alight.
The match between Kane and Wyatt is the latest specialty or ‘gimmick’ match for the WWE to have as a special attraction on one of its pay per views, and currently the jury is out as to whether it will be fondly remembered or will forever be fated to induce a press of your fast forward button of your DVD remote. Going into SummerSlam its fair to say that there aren’t huge expectations of this match.

I’d love to know who wrote The Shield’s lines for this week’s Raw. It seemed to me that as they stood and ranted about “The John Cena Problem” and the “Decade of injustice” those words could have been spoken by a plethora of WWE mid card talents who’ve perhaps been held back by The Cena Machine throughout their careers despite being way more talented than he is. It was a great decision to give The Shield some microphone time after week’s of not saying very much. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are great talkers, Roman Reigns has a way to go but he’s pretty good at shouting which is kinda his role as enforcer anyway.
Utilising the blackout was a good idea but tell me how that makes the babyfaces look tough? When The Shield use that method to attack they’re called cowards.

Full Disclosure: I am absolutely crazy about the Royal Rumble. It’s been a passion of mine ever since I was a kid, and has evolved into a near obsession of mine as I have grown older. I’ve done statistical analyses of each Rumble in my spare time. I’ve watched and re-watched the most memorable ones until my eyes go bleary. It’s one of the biggest reasons that I am a fan of pro wrestling, because it offers everything that the WWE has built in the past year. Since it is such a fixation of mine, and because getting to talk about it makes me somewhat giddy, I’ve decided to write a series of articles on the event in preparation for the big showdown on the 27th in Phoenix. Like (almost) all of its past incarnations, this year’s match looks like it shouldn’t disappoint,...

Ok, it’s safe to say that some wrestlers just don’t need to be a World Champion in order to be considered a Legend, an all time great, the Best in the World. But that doesn’t take away the fact that many of these guys should have been champion anyway, much like current top dog Cm Punk. Let’s face it, he doesn’t need the belt to get over but he gives it a degree of credibility it has so long needed and deserved.
Here’s our list of 10 other guys that should have bee given the gold but weren’t.
10. The Big Boss Man
Not only is it criminal that Ray Traylor’s correctional officer alter ego never won the WWF championship considering how over he was back in the 1990′s, it’s also a slap in the face that the only gold he ever did...

WWE Extreme Rules is the time of year where stipulation matches take centre stage, so what better time to look back at some of the strangest gimmick matches in wrestling history.
Kennel from Hell
Watch It Here
So a retired prison guard steals your dog, invites you over and tricks you into eating him. How do you get revenge? Challenge them to a, “Kennel from Hell” that’s how! On paper it sounded intimidating. A cage surrounding the ring, a hell in the cell surrounding that and in between those rabid dogs. The only way to win was to escape both cages and outrun those angry dogs. Sounds exciting. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
The first (and last) “Kennel from Hell,“ took place at WWF Unforgiven 1999, between Al Snow and the Big Bossman. Unforgiven was already an odd event before the Kennel even came out. The first match of the evening...

WrestleMania! The grandest stage of them all. The platform for wrestlers to leave their mark on the profession they love. Unfortunately for some wrestlers though, WrestleMania has been a platform to leave the wrong kind of mark.
Here’s our list of 5 of the worst, most embarrassing moments in the history of WrestleMania.
5. The Undertaker ‘Hangs’ Big Bossman (WrestleMania Xv)
Growing up myself and my sister always had a rivalry as to who was better. She foolishly thought The Undertaker was the greatest of all time (even then) while I knew the greatest wrestler on the WWF roster was The Big Bossman. Sadly the two legends paths never seemed to cross so we never resolved our feud. That was until they met at Wrestlemania Xv when they fought it out in possibly the shortest Hell in a Cell match ever … maybe Undertaker’s worst ‘Mania match ever? So how do...

Today in trailers that make little to no sense – Aaron Harvey‘s Catch .44! Big bossman Neil told us a smidgen about this film back in July of last year, when cast additions Nikki Reed and Deborah Ann Woll were announced – and while that piece of news sold the film as a lady assassin flick, there’s not much of that to be seen in this first trailer for the film. Leading lady Malin Akerman is indeed front and center, but she looks like less an accomplished assassin (with an equally as talented and attractive crew backing her) and more like a pretty gal trying to make a quick buck with a big gun. But, hey, Bruce Willis is there doing an older Dov Charney impersonation, along with Forest Whitaker having a whole bunch of fun experimenting with some truly bad accents. Guns! Drugs! A secluded diner! Confusion and hijinks! After the break...

So sue me, I'm a wrestling fan. I first got into what WWE head cheese Vince McMahon prefers to call 'sports entertainment' these days way back in the early 1990s, in the era of (then) established stars like Hulk Hogan, Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, 'Million Dollar Man' Ted Dibiase, Mr Perfect, Big Bossman and a colourful, gravel throated character known as the 'Macho Man, aka Mr Randy Savage.
Born Randall Mario Poffo in 1952, Savage was a supernova among stars in the WWF roster, a character so much larger than life that even the red and yellow machismo machine that was Hulk Hogan struggled to match him in the charisma stakes.
Coming from athletic stock (his father Angelo Poffo, a well known wrestler in his own right in the 1950s and 60s who at one point held the World Sit Up record), Savage initially aspired to be a baseball player,...

Plus the Being Human cast is funny, gay gangsters on their knees begging, and Chris Colfer hasn't started "The Gay Bachelor."
Last night Kristin from E! hosted a Glee event with the cast and writers. The first batch of news she put out is all about couples. If you want to know all about happy heterosexuals, go read it. But I’ll tell you that Chris Colfer has not done “the gay Bachelor” to screen test with his upcoming boyfriend, and he says the role has not been cast.
Ryan Murphy maintains, “I really want to see Kurt win. I want to see him be happy and be proud and be strong, and I want to see him not be a victim. I want that character to be able to educate a whole bunch of parents and kids about what is possible. And I love the idea of Kurt being prom king.

George Lamb has promised the last series of 'Big Brother's Little Brother' will be ''revolutionary''. The TV hunk admits the daily episodes will be different from the usual format, with no audience and new co-host Emma Willis. He said: ''The start of the last series of 'Big Brother' - more importantly of 'Bblb'. It's going to be different from anything you've seen before. The big boss man, Phil Edgar Jones, told everybody that if you've seen it before put it in the bin, start again, think naturally, think differently. Everything you're going to see - the set, how we do the show, there's ..
