Spanish distributors will present their international titles to exhibitors, broadcasters and platforms st the Merci market.
Seminci, the Valladolid International Film Week, will host an expanded third edition of Spain’s Independent Film Market for the first time from October 25-27.
Known as Merci Valladolid, the market is jointly organised by Seminci and the Association of Independent Film Distributors (Adicine).
The market used to be held at the Seville European Film Festival, which was previously run by Seminici’s new director José Luis Cienfuegos.
Sixteen Spanish independent distributors will present their international titles to exhibitors, television networks and platforms at Merci Valladolid.

Newen, the production-distribution unit of TF1, France’s biggest broadcast network, has acquired a minority stake in Spain’s Kubik Films, the ambitious production label owned and operated by filmmaking brothers Alberto and Jorge Sánchez-Cabezudo. It will also serve as the exclusive distribution partner for their future feature film and TV productions, part fueled by third-party content pick-ups.

The World Cinema Fund (Wcf) has unveiled the schedule for their Wcf Day, taking place tomorrow [Feb 12] at the Filmhaus Berlin.
Festival director Dieter Kosslick and Wcf project managers Sonha Heinen and Vincenzo Bugno [pictured] will open the day, before the presentation of the Imcine Award by Jorge Sánchez, director of the Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía.
The Imcine Award is awarded to all Mexican films that receive funding from the Wcf in the next three years.
Two panel discussions will also take place: Argentian Cinema of the 21st Century, with participants including Celina Murga and Peter Rommel, and History and Innovation Fit Together, with participants include Lorna Tee and Viola Shafik.
Bugno will moderate both panels.
