Some of the best scenes in "The Witcher" season 3 fast-track the show's central relationships. After two seasons spent splitting up and reuniting, Princess Ciri (Freya Allan), Geralt of Rivera (Henry Cavill), and the powerful sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) were finally in one place -- and surprisingly happy. There was still some bad blood about that whole 'Yen almost sacrificed Ciri to a Baba Yaga-esque demon' thing, sure, but "The Witcher" pretty swiftly moved past it. The season premiere features a surprisingly endearing montage of the group evading detection together, all while Yen trains Ciri to be the hero she's meant to become.
These scenes worked well thanks to the cohesion of the core cast, who all have a familial chemistry that makes even a sped-up bonding experience look sweet and believable. According to Chalotra, though, it took some coordination between the actors to get the bond between Ciri...

Plot: A CIA Operative on the verge of retirement discovers a family secret. Forced to go back into the field for one last job, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humor.
Review: Over the six decades of his acting career, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in comedies, dramas, action movies, and horror flicks, but until now, he has not starred in a television series. With streaming services now as robust as any movie studio, the biggest names in Hollywood have headlined their own small-screen shows. Schwarzenegger’s Netflix series Fubar tries to replicate the best elements of the iconic actor’s filmography by blending action and humor with some new blood in the form of Top Gun: Maverick star Monica Barbaro. Fubar aims high but feels barely more than a network television spy series that could have been so much better considering the talent involved.

Wayne’s World ranks as one of the funniest and most quotable comedies of the 1990s, but that doesn’t mean it was an excellent experience for everybody on set. Now, as the sequel nears its 30th anniversary, director Penelope Spheeris reflects on her clashes with star/apparent diva Mike Myers and why she wasn’t asked to return.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Penelope Spheeris pointed to the test screenings as the real point at which her relationship with Mike Myers came to a head, stemming from a lack of trust in the director and the viewers. “I got great audience reaction in the testing setting. That’s when the crap hit the fan,” she said. “He wasn’t there to witness the incredible audience reaction and look at the test cards and realize that we had something on our hands.” Instead, Myers handed over 11 pages of notes, which Spheeris...

Wayne’s World director Penelope Spheeris is setting the record straight about rumored clashes with star Mike Myers on the set of 1992’s Wayne’s World — the first scripted feature for both of them.
“It was not an uncomfortable set,” Spheeris, 77, tells THR‘s It Happened in Hollywood podcast. “Mike is hypoglycemic, so if he got low blood sugar he could get grumpy. So, big deal. I worked with Richard Pryor and Albert Brooks. They’ll cause you a heart attack.”
Spheeris says the discord began after filming had wrapped and the finished film was screened for test audiences. Myers’ father died at that time, so he returned to Canada for the funeral and missed those early screenings.

Los Angeles, March 28 (Ians) Hollywood actress Lena Headey of ‘Game of Thrones’ fame is set to star in Kurt Sutter’s upcoming Netflix series ‘The Abandons’.
The Western series was ordered at Netflix in October 2022. The official series description states: “As a group of diverse, outlier families pursue their Manifest Destiny in 1850s Oregon, a corrupt force of wealth and power, coveting their land, tries to force them out.”
“These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back. In this bloody process, ‘justice’ is stretched beyond the boundaries of the law,” reports ‘Variety’.
Headey will play Fiona, described as “a strong, devout matriarch who, unable to have her own children, took in four orphans to create her own family. Driven by a higher purpose – and a strong-willed Irish temper – her faith and love for her family trump all.

Missy Peregrym will return from maternity leave to resume her role as Special Agent Maggie Bell on the Nov. 15 episode of “FBI.”
To account for her absence since leaving late in Season 4’s run, Peregrym’s character was shown suffering severe nerve damage after being exposed to sarin gas on the CBS procedural.

The CBS series will depict her character coming back on the job to help the team investigate the homicides of a law student on track to attend Quantico and a young man with possible gang ties. The network said in a release for the episode that a subplot will involve her partner, Special Agent Omar Adom “Oa” Zidan, played by Zeeko Zaki worrying that she is rushing back to the job too quickly after an “inadvertent revelation.”

This post contains spoilers for The Witcher seasons one and two.
Nobody would say that The Witcher season two ended happily. After all, the season saw not only the death of Geralt’s beloved mare Roach, but also the revelation that the warlike Emperor Emhyr of Nilfgaard is in fact Duny, Ciri’s father. And yet, the season’s close found Yennefer’s magical abilities restored after expelling the demon Voleth Meir, and Ciri continuing her apprenticeship under the close eye of Geralt. The trio, separated over time, came together again to form something of a found family.
But to the surprise of no one, that family faces a terrible threat. With the announcement that production has begun on the third season of the Netflix series comes a synopsis describing the future for the White Wolf and his friends. Details were released via the show’s official Twitter account, indicating a future full of trouble.

We’re not worthy of this level of dedication.
Ahead of the 30th anniversary of “Wayne’s World,” which was released on February 14, 1992, director Penelope Spheeris revisited filming the classic comedy and shared what really went down behind the scenes.
That iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody” sing-a-long? Yep, it took almost a full day to film.
“We were towing the car down the streets in Covina,” Spheeris told The Hollywood Reporter. “I had cameras all over the car because I needed the coverage for the title sequence. The guys were complaining after a while — and I don’t blame them — as they were head-banging for six or eight hours. Unless you’re Dave [Mustaine] from Megadeth, you’re not used to having your head bang about like that. So it was very uncomfortable for them and, I was asked to stop a couple of times. And the rest of history.”

Most behind-the-scenes stories about explosions involve complex pyrotechnics, or even CGI. But how many can say one of their best set stories involves an exploding field of corn? Well, "The Umbrella Academy" director Stephen Surjik can.

“This whole story is a lot about dysfunctional family,” says director Stephen Surjik about the superhero family at the heart of “The Umbrella Academy.” But “somehow that dysfunctional family is a great illustration of what a family should be for each other. Netflix still has not set a premiere date for the second season of the Henry Cavill-led “The Witcher,” but on Friday, they did give fans a new task to keep them busy while they wait: picking apart a cryptic teaser focused on Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan).

Netflix has wrapped the shoot for the second season of hit show “The Witcher” at U.K. locations. It has been a stop-start process for the production after being paused a few times over the last year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
“It has been fantastic to shoot ‘The Witcher’ here in the U.K.,” said “The Witcher” showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. “We have filmed at some incredible locations including Fountains Abbey, Blea Tarn, Hodge Close, Frensham Ponds, and of course, our comforting home at Arborfield Studios. We’ve assembled the best British talent and crew who have been passionate, professional and brilliant partners through such a complex and unprecedented filming experience. Now we can’t wait for everyone to see all of the hard work that has gone into this production.”

“The Witcher” Season 2 has found its Nenneke, Netflix revealed on Monday.
Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury on Netflix’s “Bridgerton,” will play the part of the Archpriestess of the Temple of Melitele in Ellander, a woman who has known Geralt of Rivia (played by Henry Cavill) since he was young. Fans of Andrzej Sapkowski’s “Witcher” novels will be familiar with Nenneke and know that this casting means more should be revealed this season about Geralt’s past.
Other new additions to “The Witcher” Season 2 cast announced today include Cassie Clare as Phillippa Eilhart, Liz Carr as Fenn, Graham McTavish as Dijkstra, Kevin Doyle as Ba’lian, Simon Callow as Codringher and Chris Fulton as Rience.

Monster-hunting fans had a reason to rejoice recently as filming on the second season of The Witcher has officially been resumed. And Henry Cavill, who plays the titular character, Geralt of Rivia, has now shared a photo (see below) from the makeup chair. If you were wondering whether his lush Witcher-white tresses were real, now you know, they absolutely were not.
The actor shows off the new process of putting on his wig, which eschews the bald cap in favor of “2 types of medical tape and some glue.” If the picture incites any Covid-19-related anxiety with the team being so close together, Cavill says there’s no reason to be concerned, as they’ve all been tested. Those aren’t the only precautions being taken on set, however, as showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and director Stephen Surjik have been having their discussions through plastic barriers.

Full normality in our pandemic-hit world may still be out of reach for the time being, but the TV industry has started to recover. Filming on The Witcher season 2 has officially resumed, with director Stephen Surjik taking to Instagram to share a photo of their newly established Covid-19 communication system, intended to reduce the need for close physical contact between crew members.
The hit screen adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy book series was just one of countless productions to take an enforced break whilst the world adjusted to the new reality. Some managed to wrap just in time, some had to curtail their seasons early, and others, like The Witcher, had to pause indefinitely.
This resumption brings an end to a near-5 month filming hiatus, a hiatus that’s pushed the second run’s premiere into the latter half of next year at the earliest. Loads of extra time...

2020 has been a rough year for everyone, and it really doesn’t seem interested in getting much better. The Covid-19 coronavirus has put millions out of jobs, closed an immense amount of businesses indefinitely, and resulted in extreme changes to how everyone socializes. This is especially true in the pandemic’s epicenter of the United States where case numbers have reached nearly 5 million and deaths are sitting at 160,000. New infections continue to skyrocket in many states as well, as the debate wages on between whether the economy or public safety should take precedence.
Of course, as debilitating as the novel virus has been on individuals, it’s also taken a massive toll on various aspects of the entertainment industry. The overwhelming majority of American theaters remain closed, and production on many films and television series has continued to be delayed indefinitely. But as the world attempts to stabilize and resume some sense of normalcy,...

The second season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy is yet to release. With the premiere only a handful of days away and anticipation from fans higher than ever, however, the streamer has reportedly gone ahead and renewed their highly unorthodox yet wildly entertaining superhero drama for a third season. At least, that’s according to What’s On Netflix, and though this is certainly exciting to hear, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as We Got This Covered told you last week it would be getting another season.
Based on the comic book series of the same name, The Umbrella Academy centres on of a group of children who were born with special powers and subsequently taken under the custody of a rich albeit mysterious philanthropist. When their father figure dies, these now-estranged heroes must reunite to beat a looming threat, something easier said than done.

Production officially began this month in the U.K. on Season 2 of Netflix’s “The Witcher,” the streaming service announced today. The series was renewed for an eight-episode second season — planned to be released in 2021 — a month before its December 2019 release.
Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books (which were also adapted into a popular video game series), “The Witcher” tells the story of Geralt of Rivia, the eponymous witcher, who travels from town to town accepting missions in exchange for “coin.” The first season of Netflix’s “The Witcher” proved to be a success for the streaming platform, as it was reportedly viewed by 76 million households within the first four weeks of its release. That makes for a lot of individuals getting “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” stuck in their head.
Geralt of Rivia himself, Henry Cavill, is set to return for “The Witcher’s” sophomore season. As are...

Production on fantasy epic “The Witcher” Season 2 has commenced in the U.K., with a planned launch in 2021, Netflix announced.
The show also announced seven new cast members joining “The Witcher” for S2, including Kristofer Hivju, the Norwegian actor who played the red-bearded wilding leader Tormund Giantsbane on “Game of Thrones.”
Netflix last month claimed “The Witcher” Season 1 was tracking to be its biggest original TV series debut to date. However, that’s according to a new metric invented by the company that found 76 million member households watched at least 2 minutes of the show in the first four weeks after its Dec. 20 release.
The streamer renewed “The Witcher” for Season 2 last fall with an eight-episode order, more than a month before the freshman season hit the streaming service. The show represents “a massive new franchise that we’ll develop season after season,” Netflix chairman/CEO Reed Hastings said on the...
