Kay Strother was the youngest of the Bell Sisters (the act used their mother's maiden name), an RCA recording group in the early 1950s. They were "discovered" Halloween night, 1951, on the L.A. amateur TV program "Peter Potter's Search for a Song". Kay, and her older sister Cynthia, had several radio and jukebox hits, their most popular being "Bermuda" (which Cynthia wrote) and which reached #7 on the Billboard charts in early 1952. They also reached #10 with "Wheel of Fortune," #19 with "Hambone" (recorded with Phil Harris), and #26 with "Rutza Rutza." "Bermuda" sold over one million copies. The Bell Sisters appeared around the country live and on radio and television with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra. They also did two tours of Korea with the USO in 1953 and 1954.
