After ending the open beta in June of last year, WB Games and developer Player First Games have announced that their the free-to-play all-star platform fighter MultiVersus will be back on May 28 when the game launches in full. The developer announced the update via a brief video (which you can see below), while also teasing new features coming to the game.
MultiVersus will release with a new PvE mode, with additional fighters added to the roster, additional stages based on “reimagined universes and environments”, “first-class” online play, improved visuals, and more. The roster currently includes Stripe and Gizmo from Gremlins, along with Shaggy and Velma from Scooby-Doo, Batman, Black Adam, and Harley Quinn.
As for who else will be joining the roster, WB and Player First Games are keeping a tight lid on that. There were rumours regarding Eleven from Stranger Things, Beetlejuice and Godzilla joining the game during the beta,...

It may not feel like it, but the ratings system used for movies that is administered by the Motion Picture Association of America is still an ongoing work in progress. Granted, the system has seemingly been fully established for the last 30-odd years or so, with the last major hiccup being the creation and controversial usage of the Nc-17 rating during the 1990s.
Still, it only takes a cursory glance at the recent cinematic landscape to see that there's a remarkable imbalance in the way the ratings system has been used over the past couple decades. Upon the introduction of a "middle ground" rating between PG and R, the PG-13, the system began to slowly be skewed to the point where now G and PG-rated films are almost exclusively the purview of children's movies (with the G rating itself nearly fully retired by circumstance). PG-13 has far and away become the most common rating,...

After hitting a snag just before he was to arrive on Tuesday, Gizmo from Gremlins has finally made it into Player First Games’ MultiVersus this morning. Voiced by Daniel Ross, Gizmo is part of the 1.02 patch, which also overhauls the hitboxes for fighters, as well as the projectile system.
Prior to Gizmo’s arrival, the official MultiVersus Twitter account released a video detailing Gizmo’s playstyle, which is focused on support. Gizmo brings with him his trusty bow from Gremlins 2, which when fully charged up, allows him to fire off flaming arrows. His Song of the Mogwai attack spawns musical note projectiles that will damage enemies while also providing a buff to allies.
Finally, you have his Gizmo A-Go-Go move, which has Gizmo jumping onto a partner and clinging to their back. Doing so will “cleanse” allies (according to the official Twitter account), presumably removing any debuffs from the ally.

Update: Warner Bros. Games has officially announced that Black Adam and Stripe will join the MultiVersus roster in the coming months as part of Season 1.
Horror fans haven’t had much to celebrate with Player First Games and WB Games’ MultiVersus, but that appears to be changing if the recent advertisements are to be believed. Alongside Black Adam (who just so happens to have a film coming out later this year), Stripe from Gremlins (which is getting a much-needed revival on HBO Max) has also appeared in a recent ad for the crossover fighting game.
Per IGN, the ShadyMVS Twitter account posted the ad in question featuring the two fighters. Neither character has been officially confirmed as of yet for MultiVersus. On top of that, another Twitter user called Mcsleaks (whose account has now disappeared) had posted a leaked character roster which also featured Stripe and Black Adam, alongside Eleven from Stranger Things,...
