Ray Stevens(1935-1996)

  • Actor
IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
"The Crippler" had quite a career as a wrestler. Tag-team champion, minor wrestling titles, and fruitful career as a headliner. Stevens was best known as a member of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's "Family" (as they were known in the American Wrestling Association) and as tag-team partner to "Wicked" Nick Bockwinkle. A splendid singles wrestler (and well known 'heel') Stevens could never win a major solo title, but was a long-time tag-team champ with Bockwinkle and Pat Patterson. Stevens wrestled in the WWF in the 1980s before retiring. He died in his hometown of San Francisco, of a heart attack on May 5, 1996.
