In 2013, the singer had a particularly rough time, which resulted in her seeking help from the Cast rehab centers for issues with depression, bulimia, and substance abuse, which she recently opened up about in an interview with CBS. If you're unfamiliar with Brie Larson, chances are that won't be for long. The actress has had a banner year, appearing in such pics as Amy Schumer's laugh-filled Trainwreck and (most notably) Lenny Abrahamson's astonishing Room. CBS acknowledged her rise in a Sunday interview and referred to the star as one of Hollywood's latest "It Girls" — a term Larson quickly dismantled because she thinks all the newfound attention is kind of weird. (You can and should laud her achievements; she just prefers hype-less specifics.) "There is no 'it,'" Larson told Tracy Smith, noting that she's just a person and asking a few questions J.Law would probably have to answer. "Who was 'it' before 'it'? And when does 'it' go away? When did I get 'it'? Who's gonna take 'it'?" Talk of potential Room awards also entered the conversation, but Larson likened that premature kind of thinking...

A lot has been said about the connection between popular culture and gun violence, and while film has been brought up in the conversation, hip-hop music has taken a particular place in the debate.
During an interview for CBS News' "Sunday Morning," rapper 50 Cent spoke out about the comparison between the music genre and the disturbing trend of violence throughout the country.
The hip-hop artist turned actor and entrepreneur refuted claims of a connection between rap music and gun violence, saying his music was more a reflection of his experience rather than a glorification of assault weapons.
"If you were doing that and you weren't actually experiencing it, I would say you were glorifying it," he told Tracy Smith. "If you're drawing from something from your actual experience, isn't it art imitating life?"
