Phyllis Smith is an American actress from Missouri who is known for playing Phyllis Vance from The Office and Sadness from Inside Out. She also acted in Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and The OA. She also works for the casting department of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Spin City and Roswell.
She was a ballet dancer with The St. Louis Civic Ballet and The St.
Louis Dance Theater and a professional jazz dancer under Raoul
Appel.
She is a former St. Louis Cardinals Cheerleader.
She has toured the country as a dancer with a Vaudeville Burlesque
show, Able's Baggy Pants Burlesque and the Mercer Brother's show
"Giggles Galore, not only as a dancer but a comic skit
performer.
In 2021, she was the celebrity spokeswoman for JoAnn Fabrics.
Smith's first paid acting credit was as an extra in the 1980 sports-comedy film, Caddyshack (1980).
