“The Twilight Zone is returning” is a phrase that we love to hear, but it’s also one that comes with quite a bit of baggage. This is, after all, a show that’s been rebooted no fewer than three times since “The Bewitchin’ Pool” concluded the original run in June 1964, with cancellation always lurking nearby, like Mr. Death in “Nothing in the Dark.”
But just a year after the latest, Jordan Peele-fronted reboot was cancelled, The Twilight Zone is returning again — but this time as a VR game for Oculus Quest and Psvr. There is an enormous pressure to do justice to the 1960s legacy as producers of the 1985, 2002 and 2019 reboot all learned, but they were working with virtually the same tools as Rod Serling was: TV cameras (albeit color ones). Fun Train, the development studio making a new Twilight Zone game, has the unique power of VR...

Exclusive: Netflix is in early development on the feature adaptation of the Simon & Schuster Dwayne Alexander Smith novel Forty Acres which Luke Cage creator Cheo Hodari Coker will write and produce.
Forty Acres follows a Civil Rights attorney must fight for survival when he’s invited to join an elite black organization with a mind-blowing secret; the thriller is described as being a cross between The Firm and Get Out.
Coker will produce alongside James Lassiter, Jay-Z, Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan, Niles Kirchner and Bill Strauss. Executive producers on Forty Acres are Dana Honor for Kapital, Smith and Mike Epps.
This marks the first movie project for Kapital whose principal Kaplan identified the idea as better suited as a feature when it was pitched to him for TV. Forty Acres reunites Kaplan with Jay-Z and Lassiter, his partners on the upcoming high-profile ABC limited series Women of the Movement.

When the "Avatar" teaser trailer went online on Thursday, August 20, it was welcomed with mixed responses as some began comparing the movie to 2008 animated flop "Delgo". But, when the free 16-minute preview was screened in theaters around the world on Friday, August 21, positive reviews came rushing in with most viewers giving their "awesome" and "epic" reactions.
Associated Press reported that fans at the film's IMAX screening in Los Angeles were astounded by the 3-D footage. "It was almost a sensory overload," Ohio State University student Ryan Moore gushed. "You have to be in the moment wearing the (3-D) glasses to really appreciate it." 21-year-old film student Derek Nunn chimed in, "I think it's going to be one of the greatest movies this decade."
Dwayne Smith of Venice, who was disappointed with the trailer, was astonished by what he has seen at the free screening. "It looked very real, especially the aliens.

Crackle doesn’t like minorities. Just kidding! April Fools’, ya know? But really, every day is April Fools’ Day in the new original web series True Colors. The new American Attorney General Eric Holder recently remarked that the United States is “a nation of cowards” when it comes to race relations. With some evocative language, Mr. Holder aimed to bring about an open and honest dialogue about race in this country. Now Crackle has stepped up to the plate. True Colors aims to extract funny by exposing the racism that’s just below the surface of American life, with covert spy cameras…but I’m not sure if, in its own comedic way, Crackle will spark the debate that Holder so desired, or if this simply reinforces his initial point. Are we facing our True Colors or just skirting the real issues? Filmed on location in Las Vegas at the...

Enter True Colors, a new hidden camera show produced by Dwayne Smith (who you may remember as a lonelygirl15 writer) and Lisa Bohacek (one of the people responsible for inflicting The Simple Life on TV audiences) for Sony Pictures TV's Crackle.com. True Colors takes the normal premise for a hidden camera show - filming people under duress in a public setting - and focuses on creating racially charged situations to, well, show a person's true colors. Why do I feel like I've seen this on Chappelle's Show before?...
