Media bifurcated bigly in reaction to Attorney General Bill Barr’s letter on Robert Mueller’s Report wrapping his investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible Trump campaign collusion or obstruction.
Just because Barr says Mueller did not find enough evidence of Donald Trump’s campaign or associates conspiring with Russia to charge, and did not make a determination of obstruction, does not mean there was not misconduct or collusion or obstruction, MSNBC insisted.
The fact that Potus could not be charged is not the end of the conversation, Ari Melber and his panel of legal pundits agreed.
“It found a lot of crimes,” Melber reminded, of Mueller’s probe. Trump, he reminded, had more criminals advising him than any president in U.S. history, at this point in their presidency.
Which, Melber added, the American public only found out about because Trump fired FBI Director James Comedy...

CNN’s Don Lemon reprimanded guests on Monday night, threatening to end a segment and warning, “It doesn’t do any good when both of you are talking over each other, when you don’t listen to the moderator.” Republican Mike Shields and Democrat Neera Tanden were arguing about the special election in Georgia’s 6th District between Democratic candidate John Ossoff and Republican candidate Karen Handel. The CNN host said, “One at a time,” but the two guests continued to speak. “Both of you please, stop, stop, stop. Let’s stop. Let’s stop. Let’s stop,” Lemon intervened.

The werewolf film is a strange thing. You’d think, being such a well-known movie monster, that there would be millions of examples of the type. However, there is not. I’m not even saying that there aren’t a ton of examples of great werewolf films, I’m saying there are barely any werewolf films at all. A long time ago, we did an article on this site to coincide with the theatrical release of one of the Twilight sequels. It was a list of 30 films, 15 of which were werewolf films, and 15 of them were vampire films, to watch instead of seeing the new Twilight. The hardest part about finding 15 worthy vampire films, was narrowing it down to 15. The hardest part of putting together a list of 15 sold werewolf films was a different beast entirely. It was hard to put together even a list of 15 mediocre werewolf films. Sure,...

Blip redesigned itself almost a year ago. The online video hosting, distribution, and advertising network of choice for thousands of independent creators of original web series updated its interface (which felt, looked, and operated much like it did when the site launched way back in 2005) to something more easy on the eyes and more easily navigable that would assist viewers in discovering new programing and entice them to stick around for a while. The new design seems, at least in part, to be working. Mike Shields at Adweek reports while Blip’s audience declined in the past year 11% to 5.1 million unique visitors March (per numbers from comScore), video views have have gone up 131%. That’s not a bad statistic, especially when you take into account in the past year Blip suffered through a major internal reorganization. Nearly all of the company’s original founders are now gone and Blip’s...

Comic-Con International has released the full schedule for Sunday July 24th for San Diego Comic-Con 2011. This is the final day of the convention. Sunday is known as Kids day and is usually the slowest of all the days, there are a few surprises though. In all my years of going to Comic-Con I've never been to a panel in Hal H. Usually nothing is happening in Hall H on Sunday, this year there are a few TV programs going on in Hall H such a as Glee, Supernatural, Doctor Who, The Cleveland Show, Sons of Anarchy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and this year Buffy the Musical will be in the great Hall as well. I've never been to the Buffy Musical event, and I think I finally want to go this year. A couple of other things worth noting are a one on one panel with Nathan Fillion, and Max Brooks talks about zombies.

CollegeHumor has made the transition from the internet’s online video hit factory with a batting average that makes Ichiro Suzuki look like Casey at the Bat, to the internet’s online video hit factory with a success rate approaching 1.000 and a stellar lineup of fantastic web series. The company launched its Fall programming slate last October, which signaled a slight change in direction from its normal college-coed and twentysomething-oriented viral video fodder. CollegeHumor co-founder and CEO Ricky Van Veen told Mike Shields at MediaWeek his production team was “trying to shift from one-off viral videos to a full slate of shows.” That strategy saw the launch of programs like Full Benefits, Hello My Name Is, Very Mary-Kate, and the celebrity-studded Star of the Week. You should give all those titles a watch. They’re as entertaining as they are popular, and they’re very popular. Their productions also forced CollegeHumor to dive into,...

Seth Meyers hosted the 2010 Espy Awards. In his opening monologue, he delivered a home run of a one-liner: Welcome to the Espy Awards, where the worlds of sports and entertainment come together. It's like a Kardashian sister's bedroom. Swap out Kardashian sister for someone who rose to pop culture stardom by way of his or her musical abilities, and the above kinda encompasses the premise for Vevo’s new web series, Artists vs. Athletes. Mike Shields at Adweek reports the internet’s music video mecca with over 51 million monthly online video viewers plans to launch the original series with an initial run of 10 20-minute episodes. Each installment will feature interviews between major league sports professionals and major recording artists. Vevo’s signed the National Basketball Association as its first partner for the program, with plans to go after the NFL, NHL, and Mlb. The premiere episodes are slated to debut...

I told you AOL was going to get serious about web series. Mike Shields at Mediaweek reports the global internet services and media company is launching three new, daily original programs starting Monday, November 1. Those include: You've Got A play on AOL's contribution to modern America's lexicon of slogans that features a 45-second monologue "conducted by various celebrities and average citizens," including Kelly Ripa, Elmo, and Jon Stewart's most famous Daily Show guest, President Barack Obama. AOL Daybreak Wallstrip and Moblogic alum (and new mom!) Lindsay Campbell plays host on this morning talk show. Electus, Ben Silverman's next generation studio, will produce the series, which Shields writes AOL execs describe as "like morning radio on the Internet." The One Next New Networks will produce this series, set to air in the afternoons and feature "celebrities, comedians, and AOL staffers discussing the biggest story of the day in two-minute sessions.

The last installment of College Humor's Street Fighter: The Later Years hit the web in February 2008. Since then, the Iac-owned destination for college coeds and veritable online video hit factory has been a bit bearish on episodic programming. Yes, the site is home to a handful of web series (including the buddy comedy Jake and Amir, the workplace comedy Hardly Working, and the video game talk show Bleep Bloop), but it's been far more focused on producing viral hits (which it's very, very good at). Until now. In a recent conversation with Mike Shields at MediaWeek, College Humor co-founder and CEO, Ricky Van Veen explained how he's now more bullish on the idea of web series. Veen told Shields his College Humor team is "trying to shift from one-off viral videos to a full slate of shows," and he's using the online video star power of his in-house cast...

Even the B-flat drone of the vuvuzelas hasn't tempered America's enthusiasm for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and as the tournament heads into the third round of the group stage, ratings are at a 16-year high.
Through the first 14 matches of the World Cup, Espn and ABC have delivered an average crowd of 3.35 million viewers, marking a 64% increase from the same period in 2006, when the nets drew 2.9 million fans. The initial portion of the round-robin stage was distinguished by the much-anticipated June 12 U.S.-England tie, which drew 13 million viewers on ABC, making it the most-watched first round World Cup game in U.S. broadcast history.
Spanish-language broadcaster Univision also drew a big crowd last Saturday, serving up 4.11 million viewers with its coverage of the 1-1 Yanks-Brits match. The Group C battle stands as Univision's second most-watched U.S. World Cup match ever, trailing only the U.S.-Mexico round-of-16 showdown...
