Marsh explained on ITV's This Morning: "The whole thing is for a television show, but actually I wanted to do this anyway, I just offered them the chance to follow it because I thought it'd be fascinating. Lee Toland Krieger (Vicious Kind) is set to direct an adaptation of Tim Sharp’s coming-of-age novel The Spectacular Kind, according to THR.
Originally developed as a directing vehicle for Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer), The Spectacular Kind is now a standalone indie film and will be Krieger’s third directorial feature.
Synopsis: The Spectacular Kind centers on a high school senior who lives only for the moment. As a project, he begins to date a social outcast, a girl trying to plan for the future, but begins to realize he has the power to permanently impact someone’s life.
Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber wrote the script, and are also on-board as executive producers.
A cast and studio are currently being sought by Icm, the company who rep Krieger.
