As an M-Rated game developed for the N64, 2001’s Conker’s Bad Fur Day was always going to stand out from the pack of that console’s largely family-friendly lineup of major titles. Even in the year 2021, though, it’s hard to believe that Nintendo ever allowed one of their own publishing partners to release a game so absurdly vulgar, crude, and violent on one of their consoles.

We’ve just been blessed with a lovely throwback to gaming greats of old with the Rare Replay Collection, but with it comes some particularly sad news – especially if you’re a Conker fan.
In an interview that’s available to watch for owners of the compilation, the lead designer for Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Chris Seavor, states that a sequel to the game is unlikely to ever happen, for multiple reasons. Chief among them the fact that some of the content is “shocking.”
I probably would change some of the stuff now. The obvious one is the sunflower. That whole sequence is like, nope. I couldn’t do that again.
If it was made now and if it was the same team it wouldn’t… I don’t think we’d do a game that people would want because they’d want the original Conker. But we’re...
