Abraham S. Schomer was born on August 2, 1876 in Pinsk, Minsk Governorate, Russian Empire [now Brest Oblast, Belarus]. He was a writer and director, known for The Hidden Light (1920), The Chamber Mystery (1920) and Ruling Passions (1918). He died on August 16, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
One time leader in the Jewish Congress, Schomer was a well-known Yiddish novelist and playwright. A New York attorney specializing in immigration law, he gave up his law practice in 1915 to write for motion pictures.
