    • Steve Sanders was born on September 17, 1952 in Richland, Georgia, USA. He was an actor, known for ABC Stage 67 (1966), Hurry Sundown (1967) and Gunsmoke (1955). He was married to Janet Sanders and Mary Milbourn. He died on June 10, 1998 in Cape Coral, Florida, USA.

  • Longtime member of the Oak Ridge Boys country-pop vocal group. Former lead singer for popular country group Oak Ridge Boys. (1987-1996) Sang baritone with the Oak Ridge Boys.
  • As a teenager (1966-1971), he was known as a gospel singer, sometimes called Little Steve Sanders.
  • Police were called to Sanders' Cape Coral, Florida home by his wife, Janet, where he was found dead on the bathroom floor from a gunshot wound to the head.
  • Sanders was a rhythm guitarist backing up the Oak Ridge Boys for several years before 1987, when he stepped out front, replacing baritone William Lee Golden, who was famous among fans for his "Mountain Man" attire, long hair and beard. Sanders quit in 1996, citing personal problems, including trouble with a former wife.
