Adelaide Studios’ sound mixing theatre has been named after South Australia’s ‘godfather’ of sound Michael Rowan.

Rowan constructed, operated and maintained the South Australian Film Corp’s sound mixing theatres from the earliest days at the Queens Studios in Norwood in the 1970s, followed by the original mono mixing theatre at Hendon, the first Dolby stereo mixing console in 1982 and the first Foley studio in 1984.

The facility received the Dolby Premier Accreditation in 2012, at that time the only one of its kind in Australia.

Currently the Michael Rowan Sound Mixing Theatre is playing host to Unjoo Moon’s debut feature I Am Woman, which stars Tilda Cobham-Hervey as singer Helen Reddy and will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Part of the fun of this final season of Elementary is pondering which way the series is going to turn.

Both London and New York were represented on Elementary Season 7 Episode 1.

Unfortunately, the episode reflected Joan's mood.

While she had impulsely followed Sherlock to London on Elementary Season 6 Episode 21, now she wasn't so sure.

That's because CBS pulled a fast one on the series' producers. 

The powers that be figured Elementary Season 6 would be its last and so designed a melancholy ending.

When serial killer Michael Rowan, who had been stalking Sherlock, was found murdered, FBI Agent Malick liked Joan for the crime, since Michael had attacked Joan on Elementary Season 6 Episode 20.

The fact was that Hannah, Gregory's daughter, killed MIchael, who had murdered her roommate. Sherlock determined that the captain had covered up for her, but Joan wouldn't let Sherlock turn in Hannah.

It was the shot heard across the pond: On Thursday’s seventh and final season premiere of Elementary, Sherlock received a troubling phone call from Detective Bell, alerting him that Captain Gregson has been shot and that the doctors aren’t sure if he’s going to survive.

“The attempted murder of Gregson is not an episodic story. It won’t wrap up very quickly,” showrunner Rob Doherty tells TVLine. “It’s something that we will mark over the course of the season, and in many respects, it will drive the season.

Sherlock and Joan’s life across the pond will be shaken up when Elementary returns for its seventh and final season this Thursday (CBS, 10/9c).

In addition to dealing with a serious case of homesickness and the baggage they left behind in New York City, the Pi duo — who are now working as consultants for Scotland Yard -— will find themselves challenged by “their greatest foe to date” this season, per the network description.
