Ivan Passer’s superb coda to the ’60s counterculture generation now enjoys a formidable reputation; this new Fun City Editions release packs it with terrific extras. It may have the best performances by top stars John Heard, Jeff Bridges and Lisa Eichhorn. Disaffected 30-somethings in Santa Barbara investigate a murder and then try to blackmail a corporate CEO. Heard is the maimed, one-eyed veteran already judged unstable, Bridges the yacht bum who gets by on his good looks, and Eichhorn the most forlorn woman of the early ’80s, looking for a reason to give a damn about something. Jordan Cronenweth’s cinematography and Jack Nitzsche’s music track couldn’t be bettered; the movie deserves the place of honor granted to Easy Rider.

.What the hell am I supposed to do while they.re up there fractionating rat.s brains?. Ken Russell takes you on a trip that will leave you a steaming pile of primordial ooze. Maybe you.ll just feel that way as the mind-bending director fills the screen with equally hallucinatory images. Dr. Edward Jessup (William Hurt) and Arthur Rosenberg (Bob Balaban) have been experimenting with states of consciousness in an isolation tank. During one of Arthur.s parties Eddie is introduced to Emily (Blair Brown) and its love at first sight. Soon the two are married but years later their marriage is on the rocks. Last night’s WWE Raw SuperShow results, live from the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
The show opens with a video looking back at Big Show explaining his actions for turning hell.
John Cena’s music hits and he comes out to the ring for an interview with Michael Cole. Cole mentions to Cena that he has received two knockout punches from Show in 24 hours and Cole reminds us that he has taken out Brodus Clay, Alex Riley, Santino Marella, Zack Ryder, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth in the last week. Cole says none of this would have happened if he had supported Big Show in the first place. Cena jumps in and cuts a promo on John Laurinaitis saying he is power hungry. Cena says he is going to take out Show at WWE No Way Out pay-per-view.
Cole says Cena is self-centered and wrapped up in his own ego.
