Atlanta -- A lawyer for a woman who says Michael Jordan fathered her teenage son has withdrawn her paternity suit, but left open the possibility that it could be refiled.
Pamela Smith "stands by the facts alleged in her original filing," Atlanta attorney Randall Kessler told The Associated Press on Monday.
Kessler said the lawsuit was withdrawn Friday without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled.
Smith filed the suit herself last month against Jordan and asked that the basketball hall of famer take a paternity test and pay child support. She later hired Kessler's firm.
Jordan has denied that he's the father of Smith's 16-year-old son. A lawyer for the majority owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats has said Smith's divorce filings established her ex-husband as the father.
Jordan's spokeswoman Estee Portnoy on Monday confirmed that Smith dismissed the paternity suit. Portnoy said there was no settlement or money paid to Smith.

Exclusive: After clubbing 43 homers including nine in the span of one week, Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton ended his 2012 season as a free agent. The same can no longer be said for his incredible life story, which has been acquired and will be turned into a feature film by Relativity Media. Relativity has closed a rights deal with Hamilton, along with a deal for Casey Affleck to write and direct. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk will produce along with The Walsh Company’s Kevin Walsh. Thunder Road’s Kent Kubena will executive produce and Hamilton and his wife Katie will co-produce along with Hamilton’s business manager Steve Reed. Relativity has also closed a deal for rights to the book that Hamilton co-authored, Beyond Belief: Finding The Strength To Come Back. Back in June, I wrote about this feature package that Iwanyk and Affleck were trying to build around Hamilton.

Casey Affleck is set to pen and direct a biopic of famed baseball slugger Josh Hamilton for Thunder Road Pictures and The Walsh Company says Deadline.
A bonafide prodigy at 15, Hamilton was the first player chosen in the 1999 Major League Baseball draft and signed with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for a then record $4 million.
After a car accident, he ended up living on his own for the first time and didn't handle it well - turning to booze and cocaine which destroyed his career. Years later he came to terms with the error of his ways and is slowly regaining his trust and potential.

Photograph by Steve Reed/Dallas Wine & Food Festival.Every spring brings a profusion of food. This year, celebrations of it are also bountiful: in a span of two months, there are 10 major food-and-wine fêtes. “The popularity of these festivals has soared, due to the rise of the celebrity chef—and a more educated consumer,” says Lee Schrager, founder and director of the hugely successful South Beach and New York City Food & Wine Festivals. Collectively, these festivals will welcome at least 60,000 guests; here’s a taste of what’s to come from the spring’s superlatives.
