Standing in the basement of the Harrah’s Cherokee Center in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, Billy F. Gibbons is recalling the moment he received his first guitar. He was only 13.
“It was Christmas Day,” the 73-year-old Zz Top frontman tells Rolling Stone. “[All these years later], there’s so many different ways to remain creative and the expressiveness seems to remain as a challenge — it’s exciting.”

With Pink Floyd unlikely to reunite ever again, Gov’t Mule will fill the void this summer by embarking on “The Dark Side of the Mule Tour.”
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon, Gov’t Mule will perform Pink Floyd covers on a newly announced amphitheater tour. Each show will also feature a separate set of Gov’t Mule originals, as well as special guest opener Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening.
According to frontman Warren Haynes, the upcoming tour will mark the final “Dark Side of the Mule” performances. “This all started so organically with what we thought would be a one-time Halloween performance [in 2018]. Since then, ‘Dark Side of the Mule’ has grown into something else. It’s a blast to perform this material but our intent is to do it for one final tour in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dark Side.

Devon Allman has announced the sixth annual Allman Family Revival, which will see musicians paying tribute to the life and music of Gregg Allman. The 18-date tour kicks off in November and will feature the Devon Allman Project, Duane Betts, Donovan Frankenreiter, Maggie Rose, G. Love, and more.
“We are in the sixth year of saluting my Dad’s music and life for the Allman Family Revival, but it’s reaching beyond that initial sentiment,” Devon Allman said in a statement. “It’s galvanizing relationships within our generation of musicians.

Cid Entertainment is pleased to announce it has teamed up with the newly formed supergroup, The Big Swell, to present, “Rising Up To Paradise: New Year’s Eve on Kauai”.
Proceeds from “Rising Up to Paradise” will benefit The Hanalei Initiative and Earthjustice, two non-profits committed to bettering the local community and ensuring the welfare of our planet.
On a remote Oceanic island more than 2,520 miles from the mainland and light years away from your worries and cares, on a ranch with palm trees and ocean views, in a land where wild roosters rule the streets and sleeping giants watch over the land, and on the last night of the year, an all-star group of musicians, led by the Grateful Dead's Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, will put a final exclamation mark on 2018 and deep dive head-first into the coming year, while celebrating a magical “here” and a transcendent “now.
