Disney+ Hotstar has released a delightful new trailer for “Disenchanted,” the all-new musical comedy and sequel to “Enchanted.” The film, which reunites original cast members Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden and also stars Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays, is directed by Adam Shankman and features new songs from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. “Disenchanted” debuts November 18, on Disney+ Hotstar.
It has been more than ten years since Giselle (Adams) and Robert (Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for.
Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever.

Becky Johnston is in talks to write the screenplay for Columbia Pictures' Salt 2. The sequel script from Kurt Wimmer didn't appeal to star Angelina Jolie enough to have her commit, and after months, Johnston's in negotiations to add her work to the mix. In the first film, Jolie starred as CIA officer Evelyn Salt (Jolie) who swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sunil Perkash produce the film which at this time has no director on board. Phillip Noyce directed Salt.

Opinion seems to be divided on Salt. Many critics were very positive about it, though the movie going public seemed to be a little more mixed in their views.
It is possibly a little premature to be planning for a sequel, though the film did gross some $290m worldwide, so it seems likely. Either way, Philip Noyce, who directed Salt will not be back for a sequel.
Talking to Moviehole about his work on the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release, Noyce said:-

He also took the time to spill the beans on what he has got on his mind instead of returning to Evelyn Salt:-

Phillip Noyce is not on board for a follow-up to "Salt", which has Angelina Jolie as lead actress. In contrary to report mentioning he is interested to return to the possible sequel, the helmer has just stated that he has no plan to make the second film.
"Those 3 [alternate] Blu-ray cuts [of the film] represent just about everything I have to offer on Evelyn Salt", Noyce tells Moviehole. He goes on explaining, "If there ever is a sequel, better its directed by someone with a completely fresh take on what I believe could be a totally entertaining and complex series of stories."
As for his upcoming projects, the filmmaker shares, "Christopher Hampton, of 'Atonement' fame, is currently in negotiations to rework the 'Dirt Music' script, with Russell Crowe confirmed to play singer/song writer Luther Fox. Its a film about the transporting power of love and music. I'm also working...

Sony's Angelina Jolie starrer "Salt" couldn't shake a high-flying holdover pic and settled for second place in its opening weekend, but the action-thriller's estimated $36.5 million in domestic boxoffice makes a second mission by its butt-kicking CIA operative likely.
"This is certainly the first good indicator," "Salt" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said. "It's got to have this kind of success worldwide. If it does, we'll have a sequel."
Studio execs expect the pic to do outsized foreign boxoffice, with "Salt" set to launch in its first major international territories Friday.
Meantime, Warner Bros.' Leonardo DiCaprio starrer "Inception" used a tiny 31% drop from its week-earlier bow to top all domestic rivals with $43.5 million. That brought 10-day coin for the Christopher Nolan-helmed fantasy thriller to a dreamy $143.7 million.
Also during the weekend, Fox's G-rated comedy "Ramona and Beezus" debuted with $8 million in sixth place. The weekend's bronze medal went to Universal's "Despicable Me,...

The 1970s Virginia Slims cigarette promos boasted the slogan “You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby” toward their femme demo and the same prideful adage can be applied to the female action hero who has broken ceilings at the cinema over the last 40 years.
In the wake of the body count left behind by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone in the ’80s and ‘90s, it’s often asked Who is the action hero of now?
As a fresh crop of actors make their mark in the genre, they become too pretentious about fully wearing the crown for fear of being pigeon-holed: Gerard Butler and Vin Diesel prefer to dabble in bullets.
If you’re holding out for a hero, “Salt” reminds us that our cinematic knight in shining armor wears a dress and her name is Angelina Jolie. Jolie doesn’t duck...

Director Phillip Noyce has finally addressed the gender change issue of "Salt". In an interview with Dark Horizons, the 59-year-old filmmaker spilled the bean on what really happens behind the lead character's gender change and how far it affects the action thriller's story.
"Tom wasn't prepared to commit to the script as it was - I mean, his main fears were that the character was too close to Ethan Hunt [Tom's character in 'Mission: Impossible'], being a rogue spy, with extraordinary abilities," he first discussed about what made Tom Cruise out of the project. "So over many months, we tried to twist and turn the story to differentiate the character of Edwin Salt from Ethan Hunt. But, you know, he had a valid point."
Explaining that the project then went into hiatus, Noyce noted that Sony Pictures' co-chairman Amy Pascal suggested to give the script to Angelina Jolie and create a female spy franchise. "Then in September last year,...
