“Peaky Blinders” will conclude with the British period crime drama’s upcoming sixth season, which has just begun production in the U.K., the BBC announced Monday.
“‘Peaky’ is back and with a bang,” creator and writer Steven Knight said in a statement Monday. “After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it. While the TV series will be coming to an end, the story will continue in another form.”
Representatives for BBC did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment on what other “form” Knight was referring to.

It’s been two freakin’ years since Peaky Blinders Season 4 was released on Netflix and I’m so happy that we’ve got six more episodes coming our way soon! It’s been promised by series creator Steven Knight that this season will be filled with “shocks and surprises.”

With just two weeks to go until the Oct. 4 launch date, Netflix has released a brand new trailer for the fifth season of “Peaky Blinders” — and it’s full of real and imagined violence, and one unfortunate scarecrow.
If you want to see Tommy Shelby use a Tommy gun to murder a scarecrow hung on a cross, watch the video above now.
Before it gets blasted to smithereens, the straw effigy of Cillian Murphy’s character delivers a sinister note telling him: “Look down on earth, and see the seeds you have sown.”

It’s been nearly two years since Peaky Blinders Season 4 was released on Netflix. Well, after that long wait, Season 5 has finally been given a U.S. release date! The six-episode Birmingham, UK set crime saga will be released in the UK on August 25th and in the U.S. on October 4th.
I love this show and it’s about damn time Season 5 gets a release date! Series creator Steven Knight talked about the upcoming chapter of the story saying that it begins with the Wall Street crash of 1929 and the Shelby family “seriously affected because they’ve invested their legitimate money and are going to have to fall back on the illegitimate money.” He also promised “shocks and surprises to come.”

Netflix has revealed the release date for the fifth season of “Peaky Blinders,” announcing that the Shelby family’s crime saga will launch Oct. 4 on the streaming service. This is after the BBC One drama first airs across the pond, of course.
Here’s the official description for the Steven Knight-created series’ fifth season:
An epic, gangster family series set in the lawless streets of Birmingham, UK and beyond, Peaky Blinders follows the evolution of leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) from backstreet crime lord to legitimate businessman and member of parliament. It explores the notions that violence destroys lives, empires rise and fall over time, and class divisions are corrosive. Season 5, returning Friday, October 4th, finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realizes that his response will impact...

Flat caps were out in force on Wednesday in Birmingham, England as the town welcomed the Season 5 world premiere of gangster epic Peaky Blinders. Birmingham is home to Peaky creator and writer Steven Knight, and to the series’ Shelby family that’s led by star Cillian Murphy’s Tommy. At a screening of the first episode of the upcoming season, Knight excited the crowd, saying that much of the next season will be shot locally. He added, “We have two more series to do and we are bringing Peaky Blinders home.” Deadline last year reported that talks were ongoing with the BBC on Seasons 6 and 7, and Knight’s comments certainly make them appear likely. However, producers and the network have yet to officially confirm.

To state that Otto Bathursts’ reimagining of Robin Hood is a colossal failure would be to understate such a pathetic and lacklustre attempt at creating just whatever monstrosity this turned out to be in an excruciating two hour running time. "Can you see...? You inspire the people!" Lionsgate has debuted one final official trailer for their new Robin Hood movie. The final trailer is just as worrisome as the last trailer, even though it looks like it has some entertaining action. They're definitely trying to sell this like Pirates of the Caribbean, about a man of the people, and I don't think it's going to work. This new Robin Hood stars England's top young actor Taron Egerton as Robin of Loxley, a "war-hardened Crusader" who fights against the corrupt English crown with his friend, Little John, played by Jamie Foxx. The cast includes Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, Björn Bengtsson, Ian Peck, and Jamie Dornan. As much as I'd like to see a modern Robin Hood movie, this just looks like every other action movie in the last decade. Give me something else, please. Here's the third & final...

"There's been whispers... of a thief!" Lionsgate has revealed the second, full-length official trailer for their new Robin Hood movie, titled very simply Robin Hood. How original. This new trailer is better than the first teaser by miles. This Robin Hood stars Taron Egerton as Robin of Loxley, a "war-hardened Crusader" who fights against the corrupt English crown with his friend, Little John, played by Jamie Foxx. The cast includes Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, Björn Bengtsson, Ian Peck, and Jamie Dornan. This doesn't look so bad, if I'm completely honest. Obviously it's cliche with all the badassery and evil king, but it also looks very entertaining. Fire it up below. Peaky Blinders Season 5 is definitely happening... it just won't arrive until 2019.
Peaky Blinders Season 5 has officially been a thing since last fall's epic Season 4 finale aired in the U.K., when the BBC almost immediately confirmed that a fifth season renewal was already a done deal, set to return to our screens in 2019.
Of course, Peaky Blinders Season 4 reaped record ratings for its U.K. airing, on BBC Two, culminating with 3.6 million viewers tuning in for the finale. While we’ll probably never know the hard figures for its U.S. performance on Netflix – due to the streaming giant’s secretiveness over those things – the show can point to the binge habits of American audiences for a lot of its current momentum, especially after ratings had temporarily hemorrhaged during Season 3.
