- Most famous feud was vs. former friend Hulk Hogan in 1986; Orndorff (according to a storyline) was miffed that Hogan was always tending to more important business than their friendship or planned tag team matches. Their feud culminated in a steel cage match in December 1986, which later aired on national television; that match was best known for both wrestlers having left the cage and their feet simultaneously landing on the floor. The match was considered a tie (though it was shown that Hogan's feet hit the floor just a hair before Orndorff's) and ordered to be "repeated". Eventually Hogan won after performing his typical finishing combination (three punches, then a boot to the face off the ropes, then his leg drop).
