The Dublin-born actor died Sept. 15 of undisclosed causes in Bath, England. His death was first reported by The Irish Echo newspaper.

Ron Howard, who starred as Chuck’s little brother Richie Cunningham on the hit ABC 1970s sitcom, tweeted: “I knew him as the 1st of 2 Chucks on #HappyDays & then as Airk in #Willow where I had the pleasure of directing him. A talented actor with a big free spirit.”

TV star Tom Bosley passed away earlier today in his Palm Springs, California home after a brief battle with lung cancer. Earlier reports indicate that the actor was also suffering from a staph infection. Bosley was best known to television audiences as patriarch Howard Cunningham on the long-running ABC sitcom Happy Days, which aired from 1974 until 1984.

Tom Bosley first made himself known as a stage actor, winning a Tony for his performance as beloved New York City Mayor Fiorello Laguardia in the 1959 musical Fiorello! He then quickly transitioned into the world of weekly television, where he would make appearances on Car 54, Where Are You?, Route 66, Ben Casey, The Mod Squad, Bonanza, and Get Smart, just to name a few, before becoming a series regular on The Debbie Reynolds Show, appearing as Bob Landers from 1969 to 1970.

Horror movie sequels usually die faster than the first victim in the story.  It doesn't matter if the original was amazing or terrible, it's just the way it goes the majority of the time.  UK flick, The Descent, actually did well as a theatrical release back in 2006.  The horror title generated enough buzz over in Europe and in a variety of film festivals.  Hence, a U.S. release date was set a year later.  Now five years later, the sequel is replicating the original's journey once again.

The Descent 2 picks up exactly where the first one left off.  Reprising the lead role of Sarah is Shauna Macdonald.  A rarity in direct to DVD flicks, which is where Descent 2 will be found in the domestic market on April 27th.  If a chunk of time has passed since seeing the first installment.  Pop that in before watching the sequel.

2005's The Descent was an unexpected delight for horror fans. It sort of came out of nowhere -- written and directed by then-unknown Neil Marshall (who had previously impressed us with Dog Soldiers), it was a grim, gory, innovative movie that quite frankly scared the hell out of me. That's something that's pretty uncommon these days -- a horror movie that's actually scary. Marshall's story of six cave explorers who become trapped in a labyrinthine underground nightmare filled with creepy humanoid predators was a tribute to minimalist film-making. He used only the light generated by actual flashlights and flares, made good use of sound effects, and sparse music -- successfully making the viewer feel like they were in the cave with the characters. It was, in a word, brilliant -- so much so that we named it the best horror movie of the aughts.

The Descent 2 premieres in the United Kingdom this December 2 with a follow up in Denmark on the 4th. In preparation for the premiere a slim teaser trailer is available for English fans prior to the release. Warner Bros. Pictures UK just sent over the full details on their release plan for Path Productions' sequel to Neil Marshall's 2005 film, The Descent.

Shauna Macdonald (Mutant Chronicles) returns as Sarah, continuing the story of the original film, in which a group of young women disappear during a caving trip in the Appalachian Mountains.

Emerging from the cave system alone, distraught and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Sceptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah's psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines (Gavan O'Herlihy) doesn't waste time. Along with his partner Rios (Krysten Cummings), and their cave rescue team Dan (Douglas Hodge), Greg (Joshua Dallas), and Cath (Anna Skellern), Vaines forces Sarah back into the caves to help the rescuers find her friends.

Here’s your first real look at The Descent: Part 2, the upcoming sequel to Neil Marshall’s 2006 horror flick.
