Edgar Wright’s movies have always boasted a strong following, but you could make the argument that he didn’t truly break through into the mainstream until Baby Driver was released. His Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy consists of three individually phenomenal films that scored widespread praise from audiences and critics, but the biggest earner of the trio was Hot Fuzz with a global haul of $80 million.
Of course, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a well established cult classic that’s also one of the most visually dazzling and severely underrated comic book adaptations of the modern era, but it was a major box office bomb that didn’t come anywhere close to recouping the $85 million budget. However, after the incredibly inventive Baby Driver raced to over $226 million in theaters and scooped three Academy Award nominations, fans were eager to see what Wright tackled next.
The answer was psychological horror,...

Margaret Nolan, actress and artiste best known for featuring in the 1964 James Bond film "Goldfinger", is no more. She was 76.
She passes away on October 5, her son Oscar Deeks has revealed to Variety.
Director Edgar Wright paid a tribute to Nolan on Twitter. "She was the middle of Venn diagram of everything cool in the 60's; having appeared with the Beatles, been beyond iconic in Bond and been part of the ‘Carry On' cast too," he wrote.
Nolan had started off as a glamour model. She was known by the name Vicky Kennedy in the early 1960s, but switched back to her birth name once she began acting.
She appeared in The Beatles' band film "A Hard Day's Night" in 1964, and played Dink, Bond's masseuse, in "Goldfinger".
Nolan is particularly remembered for appearing in the "Goldfinger" title sequence, posters, records and books, painted gold from head to toe and sporting a gold bikini.

Actress Margaret Nolan has passed away at age 76. She was best known for her association with the 1964 James Bond blockbuster "Goldfinger", in which she appeared in a small role as the character of Dink, who is lavishing her attentions on Sean Connery's 007 at the Fontainebleau Hotel pool in Miami Beach. It was her work behind the scenes on the film that made her a fan favorite. While Shirley Eaton played the character who was famously gilded to death in gold paint, it was Nolan who appeared in the film's iconic opening credits sequence in which scenes from the movie were projected on her body. This was sensational and provocative stuff in 1964 and Nolan's attachment to the film saw her appearing at Bond fan events in front of appreciative audiences for decades to come. Bonding In Britain: Book Launch Party For Jerry Juroe's "Bond, The Beatles And My Year With Marilyn"
By Mark Cerulli
Customers at London’s Bond in Motion exhibit could be forgiven for wondering about the steady stream of distinguished-looking people heading through the vehicle displays towards a private area – but they were witnessing a bit of James Bond history in the making. On on Thursday, October 11th, the Ian Fleming Foundation, Eon Productions, Iff founder Doug Redenius and this writer hosted a remarkable book signing for Charles “Jerry” Juroe, the executive who ran publicity on 14 Bond movies, from Dr. No right up to the dawn of the Pierce Brosnan era. His memoir, Bond, The Beatles and My Year with Marilyn is just out from McFarland Press. For 50 years, Jerry knew, worked with or encountered “Anyone who was anyone”. From Sean Connery to Daniel Craig, Mary Pickford to John Wayne, William Holden, Alfred Hitchcock and, yes, the Fab Four. Jerry even crossed paths with the legendary Howard Hughes.

1: Dr No – Opening Title Sequence
The schizophrenic title sequence introduces John Barry’s famous James Bond theme, but instead of transitioning into the now traditional pop song (which uses the title as a lyric), random portions of two calypso songs were used instead. This was also of course the first of Maurice Binder’s many fantastic title sequences, and while some of the standard conventions are absent (such as the silhouetted nude bodies floating about), we still do get the lines of white dots sliding across the screen before transforming into a gun barrel, through which Bob Simmons fires his gun. From then it’s on to a procession of primary colours and shapes and an Atari-like animated sequence. All in all, this remains one of the most distinctive opening title sequences of the series.

Conor Kennedy's family felt like they couldn't do anything when Taylor Swift allegedly crashed a family wedding. 'Today' show presenter, Kathie Lee Gifford confirmed reports that the teenager and his girlfriend Taylor Swift attended the wedding of Victoria Gifford Kennedy in Boston last Saturday despite being unwelcome. The host - who is the step-grandmother of the bride - explained that Conor was invited to the wedding but failed to RSVP and, instead, texted the bride's mother, Vicki Kennedy, right before the ceremony and asked to attend. Is Taylor Swift causing friction in Camelot?
Even if she is a famous multiple Grammy winner and button-cute, the singer apparently can't spend the night at the Kennedy mansion in Hyannis Port, Mass. Guess that pillow fight and slumber party ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
Her rumored boyfriend, Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold and the Kennedy clan's Maria Shriver, has some family pull, but perhaps not enough to earn Swift a bed in Kennedy Central.
The scuttlebutt comes courtesy of several reports. Swift enjoyed the Fourth of July at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port and yachted with the family the week before, but was said to be barred from an overnight stay at the Kennedy mansion on the property, reports the Daily Mail.
The place is planned for use as a research center and officials feared that housing guests would ruin the institute's tax-exempt nonprofit status, reports the Boston Globe.

In what could be big news, Pink News is reporting that Catholic Cardinal Keith Michael Patrick O'Brien is giving a speech Sunday removing opposition to civil marriages in the UK, but says the church will still oppose same-sex marriages taking place in churches, Catholic or not. Of course, this is probably an excellent April Fool's Day joke, and I do say excellent as it was written subtly.
In news that I'm going to assume is an April Fool's Day prank, they're also reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger is considering replacing Mickey Rourke in the Gareth Thomas movie. Can't they find someone Gareth's own age?
But what appears to be true about Arnold is that he, Danny DeVito and Eddie Murphy are planning a sequel to Twins called Triplets. Because the world really needs that.

Waiting For Forever is the latest outing from director James Keach and producer and wife Jane Seymour, well-known as the first 'Bond girl' of the Roger Moore era in Live And Let Die, as well as fantasy offerings such as Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and comedies including the 2006 hit Wedding Crashers.
Rachel Bilson (Jumper, The O.C.) and Tom Sturridge (Pirate Radio and the pending On The Road) lead an impressive cast in an unusual love story. Sturridge plays Will, a quirky street performer with a free spirit and a heart of pure gold. The object of Will's lifelong affection is Emma (Bilson), the beautiful young actress whom he has never stopped loving since they were childhood sweethearts. But when they reunite, and Will gets swept up in Emma's complicated past, it's pretty obvious that this unconventional romantic journey may not lead to a happy ending.

The documentary airs just days after the House voted in favor of health care reform. Widow Vicki Kennedy says Kennedy would have been thrilled at Congress passing health care.
