Elke Neidhart was born on July 5, 1941 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. She was an actress, known for Skippy (1968), Libido (1973) and Alvin Purple (1973). She was married to Christopher Muir. She died on November 25, 2013 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Has worked in Australia for many years, and after quitting acting
became a top opera director there.
She became a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day Honours in 2011. She got this for her services to the performing arts as an opera director and producer, and through the tuition and mentoring young emerging artists.
She became the first director to stage Richard Wagners Ring Cycle in Austraila.
