Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this show is on a Saturday, because the basketball be phuckin’ with the schedules. We’ve got Cody defending the title against Brodie Lee in a battle of the WWE mid-card cast-offs. Hey, other stuff will happen…like totally! Are you ready to get some? Okay!
Match #1: Ftr (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) def. Private Party (Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
“I believed in Ftr a lot more last week than I do this week, after that assault on Ricky Morton,” said Jim Ross. “A sneak attack and they used a knee brace to do it,” added Tony Schiavone. Dax and Quen traded arm drags, and then Private Party hit stereo dropkicks on Ftr! “Quicker than a hiccup, I can tell you that, and they are controlling the pace,...

Welcome to this week’s review of National Wrestling Alliance: Powerrr, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a special 90-minute season finale for the go-home show to Hard Times. Ricky Morton is back to have his massive World Title Match against Nick Aldis. It sounds like we’ve got a good show here.
Match #1: Thunder Rosa defeated Tasha Steelz
My Opinion: 2.7 out of 5 – This was getting good, but it stopped after just two or so minutes. Why not let this sucker go for a while? Fortunately, this was a case of two women getting a lot in to a small space.
Match #2: Trevor Murdoch defeated Tom Lattimer – TV Title Tournament Match
My Opinion: 2.9 out of 5 – This was a brisk battle that went…two minutes. I thought the 90-minute window would allow for longer matches? Any-way, these two worked very well together for...

Welcome to this week’s National Wrestling Alliance: Powerrr review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I look just like Aisha Tyler. Let’s make some s— up…like I just did.
Match #1: Zane Dawson defeated Dave Dawson – National Wrestling Alliance TV Title Tournament Match
My Opinion: 2.1 out of 5 – This wasn’t much other than a lot of talking. There were some slams and all that stuff, but you can skip this sucker.
Match #2: Melina defeated Ashley Vox
My Opinion: 2.6 out of 5 – Melina did well here and looked pretty tough over-all. Vox looks like she could rip some-one in half, which ain’t bad for this sport. This was waaaaaaaaaaaay too short. Why are these matches so f—— short? Do you wanna watch a show of three minute matches? Do you have a short attention span? Are you a pigeon? Am I just writing all...

Welcome to this review of National Wrestling Alliance: Powerrr, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and the world would be better off if we stopped using money. Do you really like money? It’s a pain in the ass. My whole dumb plan would be to ask people to just give each other goods and services for free. Don’t wait for the governments to do this, because they won’t. I bet that if people did this for a week, we’d get addicted to that world without money in short order. Yeah, we’d have to re-assess how we live our lives (kiss restaurants and servants bye-bye…mostly), but I have faith that, when the chips are down, people will make the right decisions if you actually let them make the decision for them-selves. What does this have to do with Nwa: Powerrr? Technically,...

Welcome to this review of All Elite Wrestling: Full Gear, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have several big matches, including one that has been advertised as one of the most violent matches in a long time. Pull up your Daisy Dukes and get ready to talk in a really high squeak, because it’s time to hit, Full Gear. See? I’m cool. I’m not lame!
Match #1: Dr. Britt Baker defeated Bea Priestley The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Before the match began, Priestley whipped her jacket at Baker, clearly playing mind games. Baker tried for the Lock Jaw earlier on, but Priestley escaped and stomped on Baker. Priestley stretched Baker against the ring post, and started working Baker’s back and ribcage. The commentators informed us that Baker was dealing with the flu tonight, besides battling the “Top Gaijin” Bea Priestley.

Former Ecw wrestler The Rockin’ Rebel, real name Charles Williams, has died in what police believe to be a murder-suicide.
“Initial indications support that Stephanie Williams was shot by her husband,” a West Goshen Township Police Department press release reads. “Charles Williams then fatally shot himself.”
The shootings occurred on or around June 1 in the 300 block of North Five Points Road in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The couple was in their 50s.
A previous report from the police says that upon their arrival on the scene, cops were met in the driveway by “family members,” though the specific nature of those relationships was not disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, with the coroner now included.

Rockin’ Rebel had some success early in his career on the independent circuit. Among his accomplishments, in 1990, he became the first Twa Tri- State Champion.

[[tmz:video id="0_v00ha39c"]] Ric Flair is now admitting he had been boozing Hard all day and night in the hours before his medical emergency in August ... and credits his fiancee with saving his life. "I had been drinking ... shocker, yeah," Flair said on WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Morton's podcast. "A friend of mine came in town from Dallas and we had been out all day the day before (the emergency) and again in the morning before I flew back.

Accoring to CBS Sports, the WWE has announced that The Rock 'n' Roll Express will be the newest inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson were one of the most popular tag teams in the 1980's, making a name for themselves in the Nwa and Jim Crockett Promotions.
While The Rock 'n' Roll Express doesn't have much of a history in the WWE apart from a short stint in the late 90's, this is a fine addition to the Hall. As a fan growing up watching wrestling in the 80's, when you turned on wrestling Saturday Nights at 6:05 pm for some Nwa World Championship Wrestling, watching The Rock 'n' Roll Express in action gave you some of the best in ring action you were going to see. Their brilliance as a team revolved around the fact that they were pretty much always the underdog in all their matches.

Ricky Morton, the director of the horrid Super Mario Bros. film, said Bob Hoskins was not always the choice for the role of Mario, and that they originally wanted Danny DeVito in the role! His story (which he shared with scifinow) is rather anticlimactic:
Well, Danny DeVito turned us down. Mario was the main character in the cast, and Bob was available. It was basically about availability. There are all these stories about the way people are cast but it’s normally about availability…
The film would go on to be a light smear on the otherwise illustrious career of Hoskins, but I can't help but wonder what, if anything, it would've done to DeVito. Side note: how often would you have heard "we settled for Bob Hoskins because DeVito wasn't available," in Hollywood back then?
Part of me thinks the film would've been better with DeVito, at least comedy-wise.

Another month, another defunct championship history to delve into.
The Cruiserweight Championship is arguably the most poorly-booked, unfairly neglected championship in WWE/WCW history, as it provided some of the best in-ring action and some of the main excitement on shows, yet was almost always presented as a sideshow and rarely, if ever, the main attraction.
The first champion was crowned when Brian Pillman defeated Ricky Morton in a tournament final in WCW in October 1991. 40 different competitors would hold the belt over a combined 79 reigns. Superstars as varied as Chris Jericho, Oklahoma, Dean Malenko, Alex Wright and Rey Mysterio would be champion, again showing the mishmash attitude towards its booking.
One important note is that this is the history of the Cruiserweight Championship, established in WCW and then taken over by WWE. As such, it is this lineage that is looked at here, not the WWF Light Heavyweight Title.
