Each MasterChef judge brings something unique to the television show. They provide expert-level critiques and personalities, while acting as the face of the series. The U.S. iteration started with Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Joe Bastianich, but there was only one permanent female judge on MasterChef in Christina Tosi. The most recent panel includes Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Bastianich. Here’s a list of four excellent chefs that would make great judges on the show.

Alex Guarnaschelli is no stranger to television, as she’s a personality starring on an array of Food Network shows, including The Kitchen, Chopped, and Iron Chef America. She’s on Iron Chef America as an Iron Chef herself, alongside fellow heavy hitters, such as Wolfgang Puck and Masaharu Morimoto.

Matt Lucas is stepping away from “The Great British Bake Off” after co-hosting for three years, citing a busy schedule that includes his talk show, “Fantasy Football League.”
“Xxx Farewell Bake Off! It’s been a delicious experience and I can’t imagine a more fun way of spending my summers, but it’s become clear to me that I can’t present both ‘Fantasy Football League’ and ‘Bake Off’ alongside all my other projects. So, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else,” Lucas posted on social media Tuesday.

Hey, "MasterChef" fans. Tonight, June 23, 2021, another new episode of MasterChef season 11 did indeed air with judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez, and Joe Bastianich. They brought on a special, 4th judge named chef Masaharu Morimoto. Morimoto prepared a Monkfish for the top 15 contestants. And guess what. All of the contestants had to prepare a monkfish dish for this episode's challenge. They were given a full hour to do so. The winner got a dinner for two to Masaharu Morimoto's Las Vegas restaurant. The contestant with the worst dish got sent home. During the one hour, Abe mentioned he was making a pan seared monkfish dish. Autumn said she never worked with fish, and hope she doesn't go home.

Just a few weeks ago when Gordon Ramsay offered a definite shut down on whether pineapple belongs on pizza, his answer didn’t sit well with Alton Brown.
Responding to a tweet on People Food’s Twitter page on Monday, Brown said, “If I want pineapple on my pizza, I’ll by God have it.” And in an interview with People on Wednesday, the Iron Chef Gauntlet host elaborated his stance on the hot topic, which was mainly fueled by Iceland president Gudni Thorlacius Johannesson’s suggestion to put a ban on the flavor combo.

Las Vegas — A 20-year-old Boston University sophomore and a self-described "cellist-nerd" brought the Miss Universe crown back to the United States for the first time in more than a decade when she won the televised contest Wednesday.
Olivia Culpo beat out 88 other beauty queens to take the title from Leila Lopes of Angola during the two-hour competition at the Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Culpo wore a tight navy blue mini-dress with a sequined bodice as she walked on stage for the competition's opening number. Later in the night, she strutted in a purple and blue bikini, and donned a wintery red velvet gown with a plunging neckline.
Culpo's coronation ends a long losing spell for the U.S. in the competition co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC. An American had not won the right to be called Miss Universe since Brook Lee won the title in...

A beautiful spring has sprung here in Austin, Texas. Bluebonnets are everywhere, it's not yet 100 degrees and, now that the city has recovered from South By Southwest, Austin will soon be celebrating the chance to prove itself in the culinary space with its first-ever Food & Wine Festival.
With chatter about "Austin cool" coming from many directions these days, the city will draw yet another national crowd from April 27 to 29 to eat, drink, learn and be merry with headliner chefs such as Masaharu Morimoto, Marcus Samuelsson, Michelle Bernstein, Gail Simmons and Tyson Cole, among many others, and music from Lucinda Williams and Mayor Hawthorne. In contrast to the Texas Hill Country fest of previous years, the Austin proper version will be centrally located, officially brought to town by Food & Wine magazine of Aspen fame, and expanded to include a line-up of local greats as well as international heavy hitters.

A new Iron Chef has been crowned, and celebratory spoilers are being served.
On the finale of Next Iron Chef Super Chefs (Sunday, Food Network; series completed), the Chairman's challenge -- pressure -- lived up to its threat. Aside from the coveted title being at stake -- who doesn't want to be in the Chairman's stable? -- there were "surprises" promised. Or threatened, depending on your point of view.
The contest boiled down to an east coast/west coast thang with New York-based chef Geoffrey Zakarian going mano a womano with San Francisco treat Elizabeth Falkner. Best known as a pastry chef, Falkner's facile hand with weird ingredients, such as tuna jerky soufflé and bagel ice cream, took her to the culinary version of an Ultimate Fighting Championship. But Zakarian, a master of Mediterranean cuisine, was ready to inflict the kind of damage a truckload of Hello Kitty bandages wouldn't fix.

'Iron Chef' winner: Did Geoffrey Zakarian or Elizabeth Falkner win 'The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs'
Geoffrey Zakarian took the prize on Sunday's Dec. 18 "The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs" finale, beating out Elizabeth Falkner.
Noted chefs Bobby Flay and Masaharu Morimoto joined Michael Symon and Judy Joo as judges, while the contestants competed to continue on to "Iron Chef America."
Zakarian, a New York chef who had competed in "Iron Chef: America" and served as a judge on "Chopped," won the Heat and Meat challenge and the Hamptons Beach Cookout. Meanwhile, Falkner, who is based in San Francisco, won the Movie Theater challenge and the Food Auction challenge. Her experience as the executive pastry chef of Citizen Cake and the executive chef at Orson gave her an edge... though clearly not quite the edge Zakarian's Hello Kitty bandages gave him.
Do you think the best chef won? Weigh in below in the comments section.

The red carpet, the celebrities, and of course the food; after two years in the making, I believe the first annual Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival was a success.
I was only able to attend the red carpet premiere event and I was thoroughly impressed. Many events list that such and such celebrity will be attending but this event was the real deal. I met Los Angeles chefs like Ricardo Zarate, John Sedler, and of course the famous Wolfgang Puck and Giada de Laurentiis. I also, mingled with Daniel Boulud, Chris Consentino, and Masaharu Morimoto. I was in awe of all these wonderful chefs being in one single place.
But what your really interested in is the food. Daniel Boulud's charcuterie was simple but executed wonderfully. You received a tasting of five different meats, each with its own condiment which could a sauce or a slice of cornichon.
