Despite the fact that Priyanka Chopra is one of ABC's new leading ladies as the star in the highly-anticipated series Quantico, the network still managed to mistake her for another Indian actress. During a promo for an upcoming interview with Chopra on Nightline, they used a photo of fellow Indian actress Yukta Mookhey winning Miss World in 2009. Chopra won Miss World in 2010. Twitter immediately blew up with news of the mishap, criticizing the network for the mistake, but Chopra took the whole thing in stride. "Lol!" she tweeted in response to one of the posts. Ironically, the Nightline story is titled "How 'Quantico' Star Priyanka Chopra Dealt With Race Issues" and...

ABC’s Nightline made an embarrassing blunder on Tuesday, Sept. 29, when the news program mistakenly used footage of Indian actress Yukta Mookhey in place of Priyanka Chopra for a special feature segment on Chopra’s new role on the network’s new crime series Quantico. In the since-edited story, Nightline erroneously included a clip of Mookhey being crowned Miss World in 1999. Chopra, 33, was crowned Miss World in 2000. Not all Indian beauty queens look the same, "Nightline." Thankfully, Priyanka Chopra, the stunning actress fronting ABC's new show "Quantico," had a sense of humor about the network's fumble when trying to do a segment on her.
The video interview, which you can see below in its corrected version, was titled "How 'Quantico' Star Priyanka Chopra Dealt With Race Issues," with the actress weighing in on racist bullying she faced when going to high school in the U.S., and people calling her an "Arab terrorist," even though she's neither Arab nor a terrorist. "Nightline" noted that she was already a Bollywood star and Miss World pageant winner before landing the lead in the new ABC show. Unfortunately, when showcasing her Miss World win, they showed another Indian woman winning: Yukta Mookhey, who had won the year before.
Priyanka has 11.1 million Twitter followers, and they pointed out the mistake:

After mistaking a photo of Indian actress Yukta Mookhey for one of its Quantico star Priyanka Chopra, ABC apologized to Chopra on Twitter this afternoon. The mistake happened during a video promo for Chopra’s upcoming interview on Nightline. The footage included a photo of Mookhey when she was crowned Miss World in 1999. The error resulted in part because Bollywood star Chopra herself was crowned Miss World the next year. But it is unfortunately timed, as the segment…...
