In 1998, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman starred in the romantic comedy Practical Magic as Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters who learned to cast spells at an early age while being raised by their crazy aunts, played by Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing. Sally and Gillian are the bearers of a curse that has been in their family for several generations - the men they fall in love with are doomed to an untimely death, and they must come together and use their powers to fight the curse and find true love.
While tons of people watched movies like Practical Magic - as well as The Craft and Hocus Pocus - the majority of us were only inspired to dress up as witches for Halloween or play "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board" at slumber parties. But in 2000, one woman took away much more from the film -...

Working for years as a behind-the-scenes star-maker at Saturday Night Live, Lindsay Shookus enjoyed her life in show business but outside the spotlight.
That all changed last summer when she and Ben Affleck went public with their relationship.
“It’s strange to me,” Shookus, 37, recently told Elle, of having the spotlight turn in her direction, in a rare interview.
“My entire career has been behind the camera, and that’s definitely where I’m most comfortable. I’m a producer, I’m a mom, a friend,” she added. “Being considered a public figure honestly makes me laugh.”
Shookus also keeps the added attention in perspective.

There is something pleasing about an assist. It’s a selfless act that remains deliciously understated yet applauded by the real observers of the beautiful game. Yes, a goal entitles you to a celebration and your name will appear underneath the score on the television and most web platforms but the real plaudits go the creator, the provider, the ball-doner – the one that creates another man’s glory.
Xavi Hernandez was the top passer on FIFA 15 with a rating of 91 but due to the Spaniard’s move to Qatari club, Al Sadd Sc he is no longer available on FIFA 16 meaning his title (of pass-guru) is there to be taken. This year’s victor surpasses the Barcelona legend’s passing rating by two marks, meaning that the new winner will sit on a tasty 93.
