Outside of someone like the planet-eating giant Galactus or the terrifying mutant-hunting Sentinels in the "X-Men" stories, there really aren't many Marvel characters more physically intimidating than Juggernaut. Born Cain Markos, the Marvel Comics version of Juggernaut is Professor Charles Xavier's human step-brother and was given superhuman powers by a gem belonging to a god, enabling him to become a "human juggernaut." His domed helmet not only protects his noggin' a bit when he smashes through walls like a villainous Kool-Aid man, but it also guards him from psychic attacks, keeping his sibling safely out of his mind. Juggernaut is a force of nature and then some. In fact, in one comic, he almost trampled right over everyone's favorite boy wizard with a silly scar.
That's right — Juggernaut almost accidentally squashed Harry Potter like a bug.

The 1980s were full of sweet and relatable romance films set in high school, and many of them have held up over the years, making it easy to revisit their compelling tales of love. John Hughes is an undeniable force in '80s coming-of-age films, approaching them as a writer and director with a care and understanding for their subjects. Other directors joined Hughes in creating beloved '80s teen romance films that could be thoroughly enjoyed years later, including Cameron Crowe and Martha Coolidge.
The best romance films set in high school utilize social cues and adolescent feelings to provide obstacles for their main characters. The pressure to fit in with others, the insecure feelings associated with unrequited love, and social cliques that seem impossible to diffuse are all foundational concepts for teen romance films. Here's a return no one saw coming: Aaron Stanford is appearing as the mutant Pyro in "Deadpool & Wolverine," reprising his role from "X2: X-Men United" and "X-Men: The Last Stand." It feels like the movie settling for whatever cameo it can secure since Pyro is very much a B-lister among the X-Men.
St. John Allerdyce (just John Allerdyce in the movies) has the mutant ability of pyrokinesis, or controlling fire (hence his adopted name of Pyro). However, it comes with a caveat. Unlike, say, Firebenders from "Avatar: The Last Airbender" or Colonel Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist, from "Fullmetal Alchemist", Pyro can't create fire. Hence, his comic costume has a dual hose flamethrower (with the tubes affixed to his wrist) to create the flames for him, which he can then manipulate.
Mr. Allerdyce is Australian (with the accent to show it), continuing the trend started in the reboot...

"World War III" was a forgotten Marvel/DC crossover from 1997 that merged the Wildstorm and Heroes Reborn universes. The crossover allowed creators to do whatever they wanted with characters, resulting in a high body count and traitorous heroes. The story will never be republished due to real world events and the integration of Wildstorm characters into the main DC Universe.
While a Marvel/DC crossover is highly unlikely these days, there was a time when the two companies pitted their characters together on a fairly regular basis. In spite of all that, there is one story that has been forgotten, and really only became an official “Marvel/DC” crossover years after its original publication. This is the bizarre yet true story of “World War III,” a crossover from 1997 that’s since been lost to the ages.
The story of how “World War III” came to be starts the year before its publication.

Lyra, the Hulk's daughter from the future, has an impressive array of superpowers, including one that makes her the only Marvel character against whom the supervillain Venom will never stand a chance. Venom, who is part human and part alien symbiote, has been a daunting, dangerous villain ever since he first fought Spider-Man in David Micheline and Todd McFarlane's Amazing Spider-Man #298-300. Thanks to help from her mother, Laura escaped and tracked down her father intent on killing him. While the Juggernaut is one of the most well-known Marvel Comics villains in history–from his hulking aesthetic to his personal ties to the heroes he torments–there are many aspects to his character that many fans may not be aware of, primarily all the changes he’s undergone since his first appearance.
Cain Marko aka the Juggernaut made his first appearance in X-Men #12 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. In his debut issue, the Juggernaut was a mysterious entity, threateningly looming over the lives of the X-Men as he marched closer and closer to the X-Mansion, with none of its defenses doing anything to stop him. While the Juggernaut himself wasn’t fully revealed until the end of the issue, this comic dove deep into the Juggernaut’s backstory as it related to Charles Xavier. As readers would learn, Marko is Xavier’s stepbrother who had always been jealous of Charles.

Captain America is generally considered one of Marvel's most honorable characters, but he's been known to shunt his morals in the heat of battle—and fans may be surprised to know the Sentinel of Liberty can be particularly ruthless when he needs to be.
The 1999 miniseries Contest of Champions II by Chris Claremont, Oscar Jimenez, and Michael Ryan is predicated on the idea that the heroes are being psychically goaded to fight each other against their will. They are, in a way, prisoners in their bodies. This is explored a bit more in a duel between Black Panther and Captain America, where each man's internal monologue indicates that they're aware of the larger game being played. But it's Steve Rogers who decides to turn that awareness into action.

As the prodigal son of Batman, Nightwing is one of DC Comics’ most iconic heroes and talented fighters. Over the years, fans have seen Dick Grayson take on everything the DC Universe can throw at him and come out strong on the other side. But on more than one occasion, readers have also wondered how he’d fare against opponents from the Marvel Comics catalog of characters.
The 1996 miniseries Marvel vs. DC answers that question by pairing Nightwing against an unexpected foe who actually makes total sense as Dick Grayson’s Marvel Comics equivalent. And while the Flying Grayson puts up a valiant effort, every bird has to make their way back down to Earth at some point. And this one Marvel hero managed to bring Nightwing down hard.

While some may write the Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm off as just a young hothead, the Human Torch has shown that he's vastly underrated as a fighter and strategist. Each member of Marvel's First Family is a perfect example of a simple concept with lots of potential, and writers have built on their abilities tremendously throughout the years. Johnny Storm has always been an example of a hero who shirks that full potential. But a more than 20-year-old miniseries demonstrated that with his head screwed straight, Johnny can be a lot more than a blunt instrument of raw power.
The 1999 miniseries Contest of Champions II by Chris Claremont, Oscar Jiminez, and Michael Ryan had little relation to the first Contest of Champions event from which it took the name, but did at least maintain the concept of superheroes being pit against each other. Several dozen of Earth's mightiest are...
