Author and "700 Club" host Pat Robertson is once again opening his mouth and letting vile nonsense spew forth.
A viewer wrote in to the Christian Broadcasting Network to say she had left her church after finding out a man she had voluntarily transported from his nursing home to Sunday service is "dying of AIDS." The viewer asks if, morally, she should have been informed of the man's diagnosis before driving him because, "What if we had had an accident?"
Robertson's co-host, Terry Meeuwsen, attempts to subtly point out how ridiculous the notion is, but Robertson decides to go off on a tangent, after telling the viewer to go ahead and go back to church.
"You know what they do in San Francisco? Some of the gay community, they want to get people," Robertson says. "So if they've got 'the stuff,' they'll have a ring -- you shake hands, and...

TV evangelist and commentator Pat Robertson will clearly not get invited to a Denver Broncos game any time soon.
On Thursday's (March 22) "700 Club," Robertson chided the Broncos for trading Tim Tebow to the New York Jets and signing multi-time Mvp Peyton Manning. While the commentary starts off benign enough, with Robertson saying the "Broncos treated him [Tebow] shabbily," it quickly takes a strange turn.
"Peyton Manning was a tremendous Mvp quarterback. But he's been injured, if that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right," Robertson says.
A spokesperson for Robertson attempted to smooth over these comments on Friday (March 23). The rep tells the AP that Robertson was "in no way advocating an injury" to Manning.
This is hardly the first time that Robertson has made controversial statements. Following the 9/11 attacks, Robertson says, "the Aclu has to take a lot of blame for this.

The 700 Club's Pat Robertson discussed the banking crisis and glowingly spoke about how Iceland jailed many of the bankers who devastated their nation's economy for taking out fraudulent loans. Robertson hailed the Nordic nation for its actions and said that Americans should deal with the financial crisis in the same way. "Guess what country is getting itself out of a financial problem by some draconian measures?" Robertson asked his co-host Terry Meeuwsen. "Greece?" she asked. "No, not even close. Iceland!" Robertson exclaimed. "They are putting people in jail. Prime ministers are being indicted. They are going after banks. The people said the banks are ripping us off. We don't like what they did, and they brought our country to ruin. Suddenly Iceland is turning around and they look like a big success story!"...

In a twist that no one could have predicted, Saturday Night Live's recent sketch in which a laid-back Jesus visits the Denver Broncos' locker room to tell quarterback Tim Tebow to "take it down a notch" has raised Pat Robertson's ire several notches. Never mind the fact that the sketch — which Robertson most likely hasn't watched, unless someone transferred it to Betamax — is about as mild as parody gets. And leave aside the fact that the jokes are directed not at Jesus but at the football prowess of Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. The All-father of the Christian Broadcast Network nevertheless cited it as the latest example of a virulent "anti-Christian bigotry that is just disgusting." Robertson and always-supportive co-host Terry Meeuwsen then cataloged all the terrible things that would have surely happened if SNL's mild parody had featured Mohammed [...]...

It's been a little while since evangelist Pat Robertson has made a really controversial comment on his TV show "The 700 Club." But the one he let fly earlier this week was a doozy.
During an advice segment on Tuesday's (Sept. 13) show, a viewer asked about a friend whose wife has Alzheimer's disease. The friend has started seeing another woman, "because his wife as he knows her is gone."
Robertson's response: "I hate Alzheimer's. It is one of the most awful things because here is a loved one -- this is the woman or man that you have loved for 20, 30, 40 years. And suddenly that person is gone. ... So, what he says basically is correct. But I know it sounds cruel, but if he's going to do something he should divorce her and start all over again. But to make sure she has custodial care and somebody looking after her."
