In 2003, Jason Sudeikis, one of the many alumni of the Second City comedy troupe who went on to be involved with "Saturday Night Live," was scouted while performing in Las Vegas. He was brought on to write "SNL" sketches, and joined the cast in 2005. Sudeikis was the show's go-to George W. Bush impersonator, as well as their Mitt Romney and occasional Joe Biden. While performing on "SNL," Sudeikis' career took off in earnest, and he began appearing on "30 Rock," "The Cleveland Show," and in many, many comedy films. Sudeikis has been in the public eye pretty constantly since 2005, and his profile has only grown since his departure from "SNL" in 2013. His most recent hit is the sports dramady "Ted Lasso," which he developed and stars in. To date, "Ted Lasso" has won eight Primetime Emmys. Sudeikis may be the only performer in history to win an Emmy and also...

Who knew when the year began that a sequel to a 36-year-old movie starring its 60-year-old actor who headlined the original would be the box office champ so far this year? But “Top Gun: Maverick” starring Tom Cruise, which was released Aug. 23 on digital formats while still flying high in theaters is not only the No. 1 film of the year with a staggering haul of 683.4 million domestically and 720 million overseas. And the acclaimed film didn’t even play in China or Russia. “Top Gun: Maverick” is also the biggest film of Cruise’s career which began in 1981 with Franco Zeffirelli’s “Endless Love.”
And with the digital release, let’s relive 1986, the year we first felt the need for speed and flew into the danger zone. The year the original “Top Gun” took our breath away.

The “Dark Side of Football” Season 1 participants would make a pretty darn good NFL roster – and the storylines should make for some entertaining TV.
The six, one-hour episodes of Vice’s “Dark Side of the Ring” spinoff will include an episode on Bill Belichick, another focused on the origins of the Oakland Raiders’ notorious reputation and a third that explores the league’s painkiller problem and the often tragic results of its unwritten rule to “play with the pain,” in the docuseries’ words.
And that’s literally just the half of it. Other subjects covered include violence among some hardcore fans, the pathetic (not last year!) Cleveland Browns, and one episode dedicated entirely to diva wide receivers, TheWrap has learned.
Participants interviewed for and appearing in the program include Chad Johnson, Mike Ditka, Plaxico Burress, Donte Stallworth, Jemele Hill, Bill Romanowski, Jim McMahon, Ricky Williams, Kyle Turley and Lincoln Kennedy,...

Chicago – As a sports obsessed adolescent growing up in Chicago during the 1980s, nothing dominated the headlines more than the Chicago Bears. Leading the carnival of mayhem and madness was quarterback Jim McMahon. McMahon helped lead the Chicago Bears to a 15-1 record in 1985, and a dominant 46-10 win over New England in Super Bowl Xx.
He played the quarterback position like a linebacker and his teammates and fans appreciated the way he attacked the game with reckless abandon, with little regard for his own personal health and safety. His tough and rebellious attitude combined with his sunglasses, headbands and punk haircuts encapsulated what the ‘80s were all about … the team and Qb left such a lasting impression on me that I named my son Jimmy.
