This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Max Factor cosmetics brand and Candice Swanepoel is serving up some sexy looks in the new ad campaign.
The Victoria’s Secret stunner worked with the brand’s Creative Design Director Pat McGrath for she called “the look of the century,” and the results are amazing.
McGrath explained, “This is a very bold, brave, decadent and hedonistic look. There's bold shimmers, lots of color, full blush, glossy lips. This is a really strong couture look that women can take inspiration from.”
“You can take the blush, a bold lip, even use the eyeshadow and just work it as an eyeliner - you can literally break it apart to make the perfect party look for you and if you’re brave, do the whole thing.”...

As any beauty expert can tell you, makeup can be literally transformative. So for Rooney Mara's evolution from sweet-faced Hollywood actress to Swedish computer hacking loner, David Fincher chose the fashion industry's most respected makeup artist, Pat McGrath, to lead the transformation.
And what a transformation it was. Much has been made about Mara's "goth" (although she hates the word) makeover, but McGrath reveals how much work it really took.
"The moment I heard that Rooney got the part, I thought, wow, the hair has to be short and we have to bleach the brows," McGrath told Style.com. "As soon as I saw her bone structure and her skin, I knew that I could take her look in so many different directions."
That included going easy on the skin and heavy on the eyes, creating the perfect balance for the complicated Lisbeth Salander. Mara herself said of the role,...

Los Angeles, Dec 13: Actress Rooney Mara says she is happy to get rid of her feminine signature look for 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'.
She underwent drastic transformation for her role as Lisbeth Salander and according to reports she will have to live with it till at least 2015.
'Before 'Dragon Tattoo', I dressed very much like girls. A lot of blush-colored things. Now I literally roll out of bed and put on whatever is there. I have really enjoyed being a boy this last year,' she told Us Vogue.
Mara also revealed that she was given a make-over by makeup artist Pat McGrath, costume designer Trish Summerville.

The first time I saw Scarlett Johansson in person she was literally being mobbed by photographers at the Dolce & Gabbana spring show. I sat in my seat and watched the spectacle from afar: An explosion of light bulbs, each photographer screaming her name louder than the next. It was startling, at best.
The next time I spotted the actress, it was at the Dolce & Gabbana offices later that afternoon -- she had just returned from the show. We were meeting to discuss her current role as the face of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty. This was the Scarlett you see in the magazines, on the red carpet: cat-eye liner, red lips, '40s era hair, an insanely chic (and very tight-fitting) dress, glittery heels. In other words: incredibly stunning. I was feeling more than a little glamorized. And slightly intimidated. That is until she introduced herself and immediately asked me...

"We see only the ghosts of absent others, and mistake for reality the fictions we construct from blueprints drawn up in early childhood." That's a grim conclusion for anyone, much less a psychiatrist, but Weir's story gives him every reason to believe it. Therein lies the brilliance of the novel—and its most apparent flaw. The accumulated detail in Patrick McGrath's slow reveal of Weir's history make Weir's fatalistic outlook seem logical and inescapable. But as the novel nears its final twist, those details start to feel more contrived, and it becomes apparent that, for all Weir's grim philosophical conclusions, it's McGrath, not life, who put him in the trap. So it always is with fiction, and so long as McGrath keeps his hand out of the frame, Trauma works as an unsettling psychological study of a.
