- Friedrich Maurer was born on April 17, 1901 in Mannheim, Germany. He was an actor, known for The Castle (1968), Warten auf Godot (1963) and Großstadtmelodie (1943). He died on March 2, 1980 in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany.
- German character actor and writer, from 1924 prominent on the Berlin stage. He made his greatest impact during the immediate post-war period in Defa Productions, notably in The Affair Blum (1948) and Der Untertan (1951). He was awarded a Bundesverdienstkreuz.
