Vampires vs the Bronx trailer is out now and it looks every bit as fun and scary.
Netflix has released the first full trailer for the upcoming horror-comedy just in time for Halloween.
Vampires vs the Bronx follows a group of young friends from the Bronx who come together to defend their neighborhood from a band of blood-sucking vampires.
"You all know how this starts," says one of the main characters from the film. "They're turning it into apartments?" another kid asks shortly after they watch a local courthouse being changed into a modern apartment block. "White people with canvas bags? That's always the first sign."
Produced by SNL creator Lorne Michaels alongside Erin David, Bert Hamelinck, and Michael Sagol, Vampires vs the Bronx features Jaden Michael, Gregory Diaz IV, Gerald W. Jones III, Shea Whigham, Cliff 'Method Man' Smith, Coco Jones, Joel 'The Kid Mero' Martinez, Chris Redd, Vladimir Caamano,...

Ever wonder what effect a crosstown might have on vampires? Netflix’s upcoming horror comedy is an educational look at an urban problem. There’s a lot of things happening in the neighborhood right now. Keep your eyes open. That may sound vague, but the new Vampires vs. the Bronx trailer is about a silent threat: gentrification. And it’s not just any old white people buying up property in the Boogie Down Bronx; it’s ancient old people who stay that way by sucking the blood out of locals while draining the community of anything special. Have you noticed those missing kids’ posters?

The rookies of NYC 22 won't be honing their police skills on CBS much longer. The network has cancelled the cop series before the entire season has finished airing.

Debuting on April 15th, in (now-cancelled) CSI: Miami's former timeslot, NYC 22 attracted a disappointing 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.86 million viewers. "I'm not interested in slamming that show," says ABC "Rookie Blue" regular Missy Peregrym, though she allows CBS' new Sunday police drama "NYC 22" feels familiar.
"I wanted to see what it was, and there were definitely similarities," the actress tells Zap2it. "Leelee Sobieski reminded me of Charlotte (Sullivan, alias Gail Peck on 'Rookie Blue'); Sanchez (played by Judy Marte) kind of reminded me of Andy, except she's a bit harder; and then, there's the Ben Bass kind of character." Bass plays Sam Swarek -- "Rookie" love interest of Peregrym's Andy McNally -- on the Canadian-made show set for its Season 3 launch Thursday, May 24, on ABC.
"At the end of the day, it's really, really difficult to make a brand-new show," reasons Peregrym, "to write a pilot where you have to introduce characters and everyone has to kind of be dynamic and have something different for themselves.

All too often, the neighborhoods that need police the most are those where residents trust cops the least.
It's a tough situation for those who live there and for those trying to patrol the streets. CBS' latest drama, "NYC 22," premiering Sunday, April 15, has that delicate relationship as an undercurrent.
Though those involved with a show are always quick to dismiss the notion that it's anything we have seen before, this is a procedural cop show, albeit one with excellent credentials: Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are executive producers, and Richard Price created it. It could not be more authentic New York, given the people behind it.
On a cold December day, the show is shooting at Amsterdam Avenue and 105th Street. It's a neighborhood of old apartment buildings and newer condos, shared by Columbia University students and longtime residents.

CBS has had no shortage of success with its cop-related dramas. In fact, for the 2011-12 season, the network has six shows in the top 20 that are based on police or military folks doing investigations. But with programs like "CSI" showing their age, it's no surprise that the network would look to insert some fresh blood into their line up. The most recent effort is "NYC 22."
The Robert De Niro-produced show follows a group of police rookies as they learn the ropes and learn about themselves while fighting crime. If this logline sounds familiar, it's probably the exact same pitch producers gave with "Rookie Blue" and countless other cop dramas.
The series features a United Nations of characters including Adam Goldberg as a former reporter, Leelee Sobieski as an ex Marine MP, Harold House Moore as a former NBA player in addition to Tom Reed, Judy Marte and Stark Sands.

Chicago – “NYC 22” reminds me of a cover song by a really strong bar band. You can admire the craftsmanship. It doesn’t hit any wrong notes. And it reminds you of what you like about the original. But it can’t replace it. “NYC 22” is so derivative of other programs that it is constantly fighting with itself because it exposes its own flaws through the comparison. It feels like “NYPD Blue” and “Southland,” but those are the brilliant originals. This is the cover version.

You would think from looking at the cover of The Mortician that the film somehow involves the story of a crazed and violent mortician wandering the streets of London circa 1890. And that maybe, just maybe he was dead and didn't know it. He is wearing and consulting a pocket watch after all and the film's tag line, "A Dead Man Living in a Dying City," doesn't do much to convince me otherwise. Fast forward to the end of the movie when I finally realized that The Mortician is merely a film about a lonely mortician who likes to wear outdated clothes. Whoops!

The Mortician is on its way in 3D, and if you're a fan of psychologically thrilling horror, you're in for a treat. Former Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man stars in the lead role (looking like a cross between Carlton from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and 49ers receiver Braylon Edwards). Grindstone Entertainment has picked up the rights to the film, and a new trailer awaits you.
The Mortician, written and directed by Gareth Maxwell Roberts, also stars Edward Furlong, Dash Mihok, Wendell Pierce, Ej Bonilla, Angelic Zambrana, Judy Marte, Dana Fuchs and Cruz Santiago. The 3D film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and has been screened at the German Fantasy Fest as well as the Stiges Film Festival last weekend. It will be featured at the New Orleans Film Festival this coming weekend.
Synopsis:
Alienated and cold, The Mortician (Method Man) processes corpses with steely disregard. He is lonely and isolated.

Every mystery has a truth waiting to be revealed. Time for a diversion from the usual for something a bit unique. The official trailer for the digital 3D feature film The Mortician has debuted online via YouTube. Starring Method Man as "The Mortician", this indie drama is about a lonely man who gets caught up in some dirty deals with local gangsters. The cast also features Dash Mihok, Edward Furlong, Wendell Pierce, Ej Bonilla, Angelic Zambrana, Judy Marte, Dana Fuchs and Cruz Santiago. This looks like it might be cool to see, despite the odd editing in this trailer; I'd love to catch this at a film fest if I could. Take a look below. Every year you can count on there being at least one fresh faced star to emerge from the festival circuit. Some of them go on to channel that buzz into successful, creative careers(Parker Posey), while others sorta disappear(anybody remember Judy Marte?). This year's entry into the sweepstakes was Brit Marling, who wowed audiences by writing, producing, and starring in two films: The Sound of My...

As the networks roll out their fall schedules, CBS gets a chance to spend a lot of its day milling around the free snack table while surfing for new Apps. Whatever your thoughts might be on whether or not CBS has hot women, and is or isn't a network for old people (which it A- does, and B- nevertheless largely is), the fact is that they aren't rolling out a lot of new shows. P.S. don't write letters, if you haven't heard about CBS claiming it isn't for old people (or just for old people, I suppose) and has "hot women," that's not my fault.
You could go either way with the general idea that CBS is only putting out five new shows, while the other networks seem to have more new shows than they can juggle at once. On the one hand, CBS might be resting on its...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the fourth announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on CBS.
Still faring well, though not as indomitable as it used to be, CBS made headlines more this year for the antics of "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen than any of its other shows. With Ashton Kutcher now replacing Sheen, the new look 'Men' is staying in the same time slot and you can bet the network is desperately hoping it'll perform as well.
In any case, CBS is actually making some significant changes this year in terms of scheduling. Most notably the new J.J. Abrams series "Person of Interest" is getting the highly coveted Thursday 9pm slot which has been the home of the original "CSI" for the past decade,...

CBS announced its 2011-2012 primetime fall schedule today. The most anticipated show for me is J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest starring Jim Caviezel, Michael Emmerson and Taraji P. Henson. I am also a huge fan of Kat Dennings, so it will be neat to see how 2 Broke Girls turns out. There are a total of three new dramas, two new comedies, and 19 returning series.
Here is the press release:
CBS announced today its new 2011-2012 primetime schedule, ordering five new series and making key time-period moves for CSI and The Good Wife to strengthen its already top-rated primetime lineup. CBS will, once again, finish the season as America's most watched network, marking the eighth time it has done so in the last nine years.

Two and a Half Men is staying put and CSI is getting the boot.
CBS unveiled its fall scheduled keeping Big Bang Theory on Thursdays and shifts veteran CSI from its longtime Thursday night anchor slot.
The network announced several new drams. J.J. Abrams’ Person of Interest stars Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson as an ex-cia agent and a billionaire who team to stop crimes. Interest gets to take over the coveted CSI spot on Thursdays. CBS also shifted The Good Wife to Sundays. “To move CSI out of that time period you need big guns and we do,” says CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler.

After spending untold amounts of cash on hundreds of dramas and comedies — most of which will never make it to your living rooms — the five broadcast networks will begin announcing in New York next week which projects are good enough to earn a coveted fall pickup. (NBC and Fox will present their fall schedule to advertisers on Monday, followed by ABC on Tuesday, CBS on Wednesday and the CW on Thursday).
Buzz is already strong for several projects (for more on the hot ones, click here). But every year, we always wonder what diamond-in-the-rough was left on the cutting room...

We bring you whole boatload of pilot casting news, including Jenna Elfman eyeing another sitcom and Christina Ricci considering her first full-time series role.
Elfman, who starred in CBS' "Accidentally on Purpose" last season, is talking with ABC about starring in its comedy pilot "Bad Mom." The former "Dharma & Greg" star will play a single mother who has previously left much of the child-rearing burden to her own mom, then has to take on those responsibilities when grandma finally says no. [Deadline]
Ricci, meanwhile, is in negotiations for another ABC pilot, "Pan Am." She would play a flight attendant in the drama about the men and women who worked for the titular airline in the 1960s. Ricci has dabbled in series TV before, guesting on "Saving Grace," "Grey's Anatomy" and upcoming episodes of "CSI," but this would be her first regular role on a show. [Hollywood Reporter]

I have worked furiously to get you guys images from Gareth Maxwell Roberts' The Mortician 3D, but apparently every single person involved has no idea what they're doing. They're so discombobulated that five clips have leaked onto the web featuring interviews and first ever footage. Method Man, Edward Furlong, Dash Mihok, Judy Marte, and Angelic Zambrana all star. The story, which is shot in post-Katrina New Orleans from a script by Roberts, follows the tale of a man emotionally numbed and closed off to the decay and corruption of the city surrounding him. One day he discovers a striking tattoo on the body of a murdered young woman, triggering a sequence of haunting dreams from his childhood and forcing him to confront his emotions.
