Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010′s irreverent global hit: Kick-ass 2. After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) – reborn as The Mother F%&*^r – only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.
When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire – leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own.

An 85 year old wannabe is suing The X Factor, because it’s audition process was too tiring for him.
It has been reported that Hyman Marks, as well as his 54-year-old son, Stephen Marks, and 78-year-old wife, Helen Marks are taking legal action against Simon Cowell’s new Us show, before it had even aired, because he was left so exhausted after tryouts held in Miami.
The family members claim that after producers took a shine to them at the Miami’s Bank United Center and decided that their father / son act had some novelty value, they were asked to re-film footage several times.
This process was said to have greatly tired the contestants, mostly due to the 96-degree heat, the pensioner’s age and his son’s asthma.
The suit allegedly reads:
“As a result of this grueling and discriminatory physical and mental exertion, the judges and the audience...

Simon Cowell is facing legal action over allegations he caused "mental anguish" to a pair of contestants who tried out for his upcoming U.S. TV talent show The X Factor.
Hyman Marks, 86, and his 54-year-old son Stephen are suing Cowell over claims their audition as a father/son duo was ruined because they were left exhausted after filming a behind-the-scenes segment multiple times.
According to the suit, the hopefuls were repeatedly made to walk from a car into the Bank United Center in Miami, Florida as cameramen shot them from different angles. When they finally stepped in front of the judging panel, the Marks men claim they were too tired to impress.
Their lawsuit, obtained by TheWrap.com, states, "As a result of this grueling and discriminatory physical and mental exertion, the judges and the audience never got to see the real Hy Marks and Stephen Marks that day."
The pair is suing Cowell and Fox TV executives for negligence, fraudulence of representation, and mental anguish.
They have also asked for another chance to audition.
The X Factor launches in the U.S. next month.

"The X Factor (Us)" faces lawsuit as soon as it gains popularity. Hyman Marks (86) and his son Stephen (54), who took part in the auditions, along with Hyman's wife Helen (78) sue the show, Fox and Simon Cowell as executive producer for allegedly putting them through a punishing physical ordeal that left them too exhausted to perform competitively.
According to the lawsuit, Hyman and Stephen had made it through multiple rounds of auditions in Miami when they were made to film a segment numerous times on June 15. They had to walk from a car into Miami's Bank United Center while a camera filmed multiple takes when the temperature was 96 degrees Fahrenheit.
Worsened with a combination of the heat, Hyman's age and Stephen's asthma, it is alleged that the process left the two contestants physically spent to perform later that day. Cowell, who sat on the judging panel, indeed said no to the...

"The X Factor" doesn't even premiere until next month, but already the legal action that the show is generating has struck entertainment gold. The singing competition -- which former "American Idol" crank Simon Cowell is exporting to the United States this fall -- is being sued by 86-year-old contestant Hyman Marks, along with his 54-year-old son, Stephen Marks, and 78-year-old wife, Helen Marks. The trio's suit claims that Hyman and Stephen's chances of hitting the big time on "The X Factor" were destroyed because they were put through a punishing physical ordeal...

I've never been to South by Southwest. That, Fantastic Fest and Bnat are three festivals I have yet to attend. I don't go to SXSW because it happens the same time as ShoWest and Vegas is much much closer to me than Austin, Texas. I mean, how can I pass up the combination of movies, poker, overpriced clubs, fountain shows and the possibility of being arrested? Can Texas offer me that? No. Ok, maybe the poker and getting arrested part. I hear you cowboys can get mighty rowdy at the country bars.Still, it looks like it'll be a lot of fun, especially if they're going to be showing movies like Kick-Ass. Here's the press release:Earlier today, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival announced it will host the world premiere of Lionsgate and Marv Films’ Kick-Ass for its 2010 Opening Night. Earlier today, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival announced it will host the world premiere of Lionsgate and Marv Films’ Kick-Ass for its 2010 Opening Night. A twisted, funny, high-octane adventure, based on the comic written by Mark Millar and John S. Romita, Jr., Kick-Ass was directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) from a screenplay by Jane Goldman & Vaughn. The South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival runs March 12 – 20, 2010 in Austin, Texas.
Kick-Ass tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage), and...

Those of you attending this year's South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin this March (we'll be covering it, if you're not) have this to look forward to: Matthew Vaughn's (Layer Cake, Stardust) Kick-Ass will open up the schedule. If you're unfamiliar with the movie, then clearly you don't spend a lot of time surfing movie websites. It's something of the fanboy movie of the spring -- it's based on the comic from Mark Millar and John S. Romita, Jr, -- and in this case, you'll be proud to be a fanboy. I've already started not taking showers in anticipation. If you need a little appetite-whetting, here's the trailer again:
Yeah. You can go ahead and purchase your festival passes now over on the SxSW website.
Average guy super-hero movies not your thing? No worries. How about this year's Anvil! The Story of Anvil in the form of Lemmy,...

There are films I can’t wait for, films I really can’t wait for, and then there’s Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, the adaptation of Mark Millar’s graphic novels that has been getting such positive buzz I would pay on the spot to see it.
And if you’re headed to this year’s SXSW (South By Southwest) Film Festival in March, you might be lucky enough to attend the premiere of the film (although it did screen in rough form at Harry Knowles’ birthday party last month).
From the official press release for the event:
