Britain's Queen Elizabeth was greeted by a brass band when she visited a school in Northern Ireland yesterday (06.05.09). Children cheered and waved Union Jack flags as the 83-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Philip arrived at Lisneal College in Derry. The royal couple met staff and students as they toured the school - which has recently been renovated at a cost of £17 million - and saw unique facilities including a dental surgery and a biometric payment system in the canteen. The queen unveiled a plaque to commemorate the visit and was presented with a replica cannon and bouquet of flowers by head pupils Rachael Devine and Robert Macbeth. Elizabeth and Philip then made their way to Altnagelvin Hospital...
