Edwin Anthony Lugo Walker aka Lugo is the Nephew of Presidential medal of freedom Honoree, Baseball's Hall of famer, Legendary, Icon and Humanitarian Roberto Clemente Walker. Lugo Stared on Broadway in sixteen-time Grammy Award Winner, two-time Rock and Roll Hall of fame inductee, Gershwin Prize winner and Kennedy Center Honoree Paul Simon's "The Capeman" who's lyrics were co-written by Nobel Prize Winner in literature Derek Walcott. Lugo Starred along with twelve-time Grammy Award Winner Marc Anthony and twenty-two time Grammy Award Winner Ruben Blades where he originated the role of Babu Charlie Cruz. He Starred in "Stand Up Tragedy" in the role of Freddy at The Heartford Stage Company, Directed by Ron Link. Nuyorican Lugo is Songwriter & Vocalist on the Grammy Award winning "Just Chillin" by Norman Brown, song "In my life". Lugo wrote and performed the song "Keep your head up" for the Acid Jazz album and group "The Holland Tunnel Project, a smooth blend of Jazz" of which he was the lead singer when the Acid Jazz Guitarist Ronny Jordan covered the song "Keep your head up" for Blue note records on his solo Album "Off the record". Lugo's music genres are Acid Jazz, R&B, Soul, Pop and Latin. Lugo's first solo album was released in London entitled "Good to go" and has hundreds of songs released to date. He was signed as an Artist to RCA Records via Panda Recording and to BMG/Universal as a Publisher and Songwriter. Lugo wrote and performed raps for Traci Spencer's the song "This house" and for UK mega Pop group Bros's song "Chocolate in the box". He wrote songs for Fania Legend Yomo Toro titled "Stop playing with my heart", for Freestyle's Judy Torres titled "Missing part", for Paul Shapiro titled "Julia" and for Linard's many moods song titled "It's not magic" which he performed. He performed for groups Outburst, Coalition, Tuba, Paradise Programme, Underground ministries, Dominico and Mikee deep. He produced music for Grammy Award Winner Gina "Fuego" Figueroa in The Voices of Hope CD Rural and Migrant Ministries, the song "Hecha le Canela". He wrote and Produced for Artists Stevie Holland, Vannessa, Odalys Garcia, Roxy Medina, MTV VJ Idalis De Leon and for Benny Medina's Hadndprint Entertainment's Pop group Duo. Lugo's Latin Soul song "Fuera de la mente" is featured in twenty-four time Grammy Award Winner Jay-Z's Hip Hop film "State Property" Directed by two time Telly Award Winner Abdul Malik Abbott. Lugo music appears on MTV's reality shows "Made", "Trailer fabulous" and on "From flab to fab". Lugo's music also appears in "Ben's Zoo" a BBC program and on "BET's Jazz Brunch". His early work was produced by Justin Strauss, Duce Martinez, Harold Martin Jr., Grammy Award Winner Rob Fusari and two-time Grammy Award Winner "Bassy" Bob Brockmann. Lugo began his career as an undefeated winner on "Showtime at the Apollo" on NBC and is a Touring Artist with his band "Latin Soul" for the U.S.O/Armed Forces Entertainment Performing for The Troops in Japan, Korea, Italy, Spain and Afghanistan for which he received The NATO Diplomat Award. Lugo performed at Academy Award Winner Robert Redford's Sundance Theatre along with Tony Award Winners Tyne Daily and Glen Close performing plays "The Eva Luna Project" directed by Della Davidson, "True history and real adventures" directed by Tony Award Winner Michael Mayer and The Broadway play "Sixteen Wounded" written by Eliam Kraiem. Lugo headlined at The Jazz Café in the U.K, The Nuyorican Poets Café in the Loisida in New York, at The City winery with Paul Shapiro in New York, at The Virgin mega store in New York, at Club Tatou both in New York and Los Angeles, at SOB's in New York and at "Springtime in Havana music festival" Cuba where he performed on national television and lectured in music production. He performed as a Vocalist for The National Dance Institute's Founder, Dancer, Choreographer, Educator, Academy Award Winner, Emmy Winner, Kennedy Center Honoree and National Medal of Arts Awardee Jacques d'Amboise, under the musical direction of Jerome Korman. Lugo performed along with many underserved children in The National Dance Institute's Broadway Gala and at schools all over the Tri-state area. He played percussion for Grammy Award Winner Christina Aguilera at Radio City Music Hall for MTV's VMA's, is an Actor on T.V and film appearing in "Law and order", in Academy Award winning Director Steven Soderberg's "The Knick" on Cinemax, in Curtis Hanson's "The Children of Times Square" on ABC, in Darnel Martin's films "To be a man" and her hit film for Columbia pictures "I like it like that", in "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" on Netflix, in "God friended me" on CBS, in FBI on CBS, in "High Maintenance" and "Treme" both on HBO, in Academy Award winner Robert Deniro's "NYC 22" on CBS and in Academy Award winner Steve Zaillian's "The night of" on HBO. He appeared in commercials for Apple's iPad, Mr. Phips and McDonalds. Lugo is a Young Arts scholar and Alumni and member of SAGAFTRA, AEA, NARAS, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. He performed in "Dark of the moon" and studied Acting and dance at Performing Arts High School under Bill Britten who performed as Bozo the clown on WPIX and in the film "Fame" ironically playing a Teacher and also under James Moody who appeared in the film "Fame" as a Teacher as well, art imitating life. Lugo studied at The AMAS Repertory theatre under National medal of Arts Awardee Rosetta LeNoire in Harlem who was an African American Broadway Pioneer and an Actor Starring in many Hollywood Films and Hit TV programs like "Family matters" and "Gimme a break". Lugo also studied at The Hudson Guild Theatre Company performing in "The letter", "The ring cycle", and "The Works of Edgar Allen Poe". Lugo attended The University of Texas at Austin under a scholarship where he performed in "Revenge of the space pandas" by Pulitzer Prize Winner David Mamet. He taught young kids Acting, Singing and Musical Theatre at The New York Performing Arts Academy. He won The Presidents Volunteer Service Award for his work with children, a Grammy Award certificate for Songwriting and Singing and a Telly Award for Songwriting and Singing the song "Feel me now" in the film Directed by two-time Telly Award winner Abdul Malik Abbott called "Balance of power".
