PBS Drops ‘Sanditon’ Season 2 Trailer; Roku Announces ‘Doomlands’ Premiere Date (TV News Roundup)
Image
PBS and Wgbh’s Masterpiece released the trailer for the highly anticipated second season of “Sanditon” on Thursday. Inspired by Jane Austen’s unfinished novel, the historical drama tells the story of Charlotte Heywood, a high-spirited young woman who happens upon the seaside town of Sanditon during a time of social change, and becomes intrigued by the town’s inhabitants and their secrets.

The first season of the fan-favorite British series ended on a giant cliffhanger in early 2020, and having been canceled in the UK by ITV, it wasn’t clear if anything would ever be resolved. But following fan outcry and the successful run on “Masterpiece,” the show was revived and ordered for a second and third season last year. But change is afoot, and the second season is sure to resolve some fans’ mixed reactions — while creating new drama.

“Love is not as simple as you seem to think,...

Shock Treatment (1981)
Neighbours star Mark Little for Rocky Horror sequel Shock Treatment
Shock Treatment (1981)
Mark Little is to star in the stage adaptation of Rocky Horror Picture Show sequel Shock Treatment.

The actor, known for his performance as Joe Mangel in Neighbours, will play TV executive Farley Flavors in the production.

Creator Richard O'Brien has reworked the film for the stage ahead of the run at London's King's Head Theatre, beginning on April 17 and ending on June 6.

Also announced to star in Shock Treatment are Ben Kerr, Avenue Q star Julie Atherton, horror duo The Twins Macabre, Mateo Oxley and Rosanna Hyland.

Mark Little said: "TV executives are pushing the envelope of talent and audience manipulation to greater limits incessantly. Celebrities are starved and humiliated more and more in the jungle and the residents of Benefits Street made more and more famous.

"How far will TV go to manipulate the hapless general public? Shock Treatment propels the answer to this question to a cruel and sinister end game.

WWE 2K15 Executive Producer Comments On Cm Punk
2K Sports

The executive producer of the forthcoming WWE 2K15 video game has commented on the status of absent WWE superstar Cm Punk. Mark Little told Polygon.com that we shouldn’t “know what to expect” with the game, saying he is working on the “WWE now”. Does this imply that Little is under the impression that Cm Punk isn’t part of WWE’s as it is now, or does it say that he’s working on the roster as of now which features Cm Punk? It’s difficult to decipher and the producer clearly felt awkward about being asked on Punk’s status for the game. Here is the full exchange between Polygon’s reporter and the 2K15 executive -

Polygon: “Sure, but, I mean, the folks we’re seeing every night, we’re going to see in here. With the exception of maybe Cm Punk.”

Little: [pause] “Talkin’ about rosters later.

Sunderland vs Peterborough – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Media Image Ltd

Date: Tuesday, September 24 Venue: Stadium of Light Kick-Off: 19:45

Sunderland begin life without manager Paolo Di Canio as they welcome Peterborough to the Stadium of Light for tonight’s Capital One Cup clash.

Team News

Kevin Ball will take charge of Sunderland tonight in the wake of the sacking of manager Paolo Di Canio.

And he has an instant obstacle to overcome in that he will be without star-striker Steven Fletcher, who sustained a suspected dislocated shoulder in the 3-0 defeat to West Brom over the weekend.

Peterborough will be without suspended duo Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Mark Little, who were sent off in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Mk Dons and serve the first of their three-match bans.

However, manager Darren Ferguson could welcome Danny Kearns back into the side, despite the midfielder missing out at the weekend due to a knock.

Digital Music Revenues to Hit $20 Billion by 2015
The cash will come largely from subscription services, predicts an analyst/soothsayer. Music stores like iTunes, having already seen declined growth, will suffer.

Digital music revenues worldwide could reach $20 billion per year by 2015, according to new report from the research firm Ovum. Mark Little, the analyst behind the report, predicts a 60% growth over the next four years in revenue from digital music subscription services. And as consumers realize they can get all the music they want for a monthly fee equal to the cost of a CD, Little thinks, track-by-track sales on iTunes and elsewhere are likely to suffer; digital music store growth slowed to 3% in 2010.

But even the apparently healthy number of $20 billion might mask the fact that the industry could be doing even better, says Little. “There’s too much free music available, and not just the illegal kind," he told New Media Age. "Free internet radio such as Pandora or Grooveshark,...

Little deal-making at Just for Laughs
Bruce Hills
Montreal -- Montreal's Just for Laughs comedy festival wrapped its English-language industry showcase over the weekend without U.S. network talent scouts pulling out their wallets.

As in recent years, performing comics secured hearty applause and the occasional standing ovation at comedy's Woodstock, with possible deal-making to follow down the road after meetings back in Los Angeles or New York.

The big stage in Montreal as ever was the twice-nightly galas at the St. Denis Theatre, hosted Saturday night by Steve Martin, who brought his banjo and his Steep Canyon Rangers bluegrass band.

"It feels good to be doing something purely for the money," Martin joked while making his first-ever Just for Laughs appearance.

Dane Cook was a late and unpublicized addition to the gala bill, at the request of Martin.

"No one expected Cook, so it really surprised and delighted the (St. Denis) audience," Just for Laughs COO Bruce Hills said Sunday.

Little rules out Ramsay Street return
Former Neighbours star Mark Little has confirmed that he has no plans to return to the soap. The actor played Joe Mangel on the Aussie show from 1988 until 1991. He later reprised the role for a guest stint in 2005 to coincide with the programme's 20th anniversary. "I think I've done my bit in Neighbours," Little is quoted by The Press Association as saying. "Joe Mangel is just a fond memory, and he certainly is that for a lot of people who still remember Joe. I was only three years in that soap, it's long ago, so I did something right or something wrong, I don't know." Little recently filmed a guest appearance in ITV1's Emmerdale, but missed (more)...

Former Neighbours actor Mark Little is to appear in a one-hour episode of Emmerdale. The 48-year-old - most noted for his role as Joe Mangel in the Australian soap - will play Jonty, a suave, suited and booted Aussie character who's set to sweep Louise Appleton (Emily Symons) off her feet under her current fiancé Jamie Hope's (Alex Carter) nose. While Louise and Jamie struggle to maintain their on-off engagement, Jonty arrives at the B&B, much to the shock of Louise.
