Law & Order Svu‘s Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler have been shipped together for years, now. Mariska Hargitay has been fielding questions about the two characters coming together almost since the show’s inception. But lately, she’s grown more fascinated with another kind of shipping.
Mariska Hargitay reveals the kind of ‘shipping’ she wants ‘Law & Order Svu’ fans to really focus on Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay | Eric Liebowitz/Getty Images
Hargitay and Meloni’s characters have been involved in a sort of ‘will they, won’t they’ sub-plot for decades. At one point, this pairing seemed unlikely. Meloni’s Stabler was married with kids, then Meloni would leave the show entirely. This allowed Hargitay’s Benson to explore other romantic interests in the show, which had been rarely touched on before.
Benson’s love interests seldom worked out, however, and the character is still single and married to her work in Svu.

2015 was a great year for television, and 2016 promises to be even better, judging by our first look at the upcoming second season of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."
Entertainment Weekly debuted the first image from the show's sophomore season, and it features our main trio of Kimmy (Ellie Kemper), Titus (Tituss Burgess), and Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) all looking pretty much exactly as we left them. Well, except for the elf outfit.
As EW explains, Kimmy has taken on a new side job as a department store elf to make some extra cash around the holidays, and we can already imagine all the hijinks that will no doubt come with that gig. Will Kimmy bust out her bunker-approved version of "O Tannenbaum" (featuring the lyrics, "Apocalypse, apocalypse, we caused you with our dumbness!"), creeping out the Santa-seeking customers? Maybe she and Tituss can team up for a yuletide rendition of "Peeno Noir"?

HBO knows how to hold on to a good thing: The cable channel has renewed buzzy show "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" for two more seasons.
The former "Daily Show" star left Comedy Central for his own gig at HBO last year, and quickly established himself as a giant in the comedy-news genre. His tenure at "Last Week Tonight," which began in April 2014, has been marked by critical praise and viral videos galore, making his renewal a no-brainer.
"We are incredibly proud to have John as part of the HBO family," said HBO head of programming Michael Lombardo in a statement. "His unique ability to deliver socially significant commentary week after week, along with his innate comedic brilliance, puts John in a class by himself."
Season three will premiere some time in 2016, and season four will debut in 2017. Each season will consist of 35 episodes.

The Michael J. Fox Show could be a real coup for both NBC and Michael J. Fox, and probably not for the reason you think. There are a lot of reasons actually, but the main one is simply that Fox has the opportunity to become one of the longest-lived “deliverers” in TV history, and NBC is not only giving him the chance, but is doing so while poking fun at itself. That’s already something worth watching.
The show is so self-referential that it’s hard to know where the show begins and our “based on” begins. That’s also an interesting move, and you probably had to be Michael J. Fox to pull it off.
Mike Henry (Fox) was one of New York’s favorite news anchors, and he’s still a guy that everyone on the street recognizes. He stepped away from the camera five years ago, because...

"Louis C.K. talks costume design"
Interview by Michael Aaron Gallagher of StayFamous.Net
Louis C.K. - Photo by Eric LeibowitzOn a recent plane flight from Las Vegas to New York, I began flipping through the June/July issue of Esquire magazine. There was an interview with comedian Louis C.K. When I finished reading it, I leaned forward to retrieve the June issue of "Hemispheres Inflight Magazine" from the United Airlines seat pocket in front of me. There was another interview with comedian Louis C.K.
So why is everyone talking about him? The common denominator between the two magazine articles is that Louis C.K. is not just a comedian. He is the brains and muscle behind his hit FX comedy series "Louie," now in its second season. As a writer, director, producer and actor there isn't much he isn't in charge of. But I couldn't help but wonder if maybe the...

White Collar returns tonight on USA and we'll all find out the fate of Mozzie, who was last seen lying in Central Park with a bullet in his chest. Fans are praying the producers have not killed him off. In the meantime we spoke with a tight-lipped Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay about everything except Mozzie's survival. Here’s what they had to say about their on-screen chemistry, how their characters have developed and working with the rest of the cast.
Tune in to the White Collar midseason premiere on January 18 at 10 p.m. Est/9 p.m. Central on USA.
Q: You have such great chemistry on screen and you seem to get along well off screen. How do you continue to maintain that?
Tim: We went to therapy once a week.
Matt: Couples therapy.
Tim: Yes. It really —
Matt: It’s worth it.

Appearances are often deceiving on television.
Emmy winner John Larroquette, who wraps his three-episode CSI:ny arc Friday, says the same is definitely true for his character. Larroquette plays Manhattan Chief of Detectives Ted Carver, who first butted heads with Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) over how to handle the media during a sniper case.

CSI: NY’s former leading lady, Melina Kanakaredes, may not be returning to wrap up her story line, but producers still plan to give her character, Stella, a dignified send-off.
“We’re giving her a noble exit,” says coexecutive producer Zachary Reiter. “We chose not to go the route of killing her off or having her go missing. We felt that would weigh too heavily on the team.”
According to showrunner Pam Veasey, viewers will learn during the show’s Sept. 24 premiere—which picks up several months after the season 6 finale—that Stella relocated to New Orleans. “She left to run a lab there,...

Chicago – The USA network continues its plans for world domination with an all-out assault on your summer viewing schedule. With “Royal Pains” and “Burn Notice” continuing to rack up amazing ratings on Thursday nights, the network kick starts the Tuesday offensive with the return of the entertaining “White Collar,” a clever riff on timeless TV archetypes.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
In the first season, “White Collar” felt like a hybrid of already-established USA hits. Add a dash of international conspiracy a la “Burn Notice” to a teaspoon of buddy comedy not unlike “Psych” and cook it in the uber-wealthy world well-defined by “Royal Pains.” The second season starts with a show that now feels like it has developed a distinct, entertaining identity of its own. With confident plotting and underrated lead performances, “White Collar” is one of the quickest hours of television this season. It’s a tasty summer cocktail on Tuesday...

Chicago – Comedian Louis C.K. is an undeniably talented and very funny man but can he carry his own show? Most of his best work has been behind-the-scenes as a writer on shows like “The Chris Rock Show” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” but he had at attempt at sitcom stardom with HBO’s “Lucky Louie” and FX has given him a second shot with the inconsistent-but-quickly-improving “Louie.” Don’t judge this show on the very mediocre premiere episode. Like many comedian’s stand-up acts, it takes some time to find its rhythm but subsequent episodes provide a lot to like.
TV Rating: 3.5/5.0
Following a formula not unlike “Seinfeld,” “Louie” features handheld camera shots of the stand-up doing bits at the Comedy Cellar in New York and then proceeds to scripted vignettes loosely related to those bits. For example, in the first episode he riffs on-stage about volunteering at...

"Ugly Betty" fans are definitely having a hard time with the show's cancellation, but what if you played its title character?
"It's going to be hard to say goodbye," America Ferrera tells NBC. "But it will always be such an incredible period of my life. I'm so proud of what we've done."
Over the course of its four seasons, the show has made Ferrera a star and earned her a Golden Globe and an Emmy.
"It's my family," Ferrera, 25, says. "It's been the last four years of my life in the most intense way. We work, at the very least, twelve hour days, five days a week, 10 months out of the year, for four years in a row."
Ferrera was recently at Sundance promoting her film "The Dry Land." In her next film, "Our Family Wedding," Ferrera plays one-half of a newly engaged couple whose fathers are embroiled in a longtime feud.

Chicago – Ben (Bryan Greenberg) and Cam (Victor Rasuk) could accurately be compared to Vinny and Eric five or six years before they made it big in the first season of “Entourage”. With a similar style and from much of the same production crew (including Mark Wahlberg), “How to Make It in America” pales in comparison to its inspiration.
Television Rating: 2.0/5.0
Ben and Cam are a couple of friends at that quarter-life crisis point when people often put their dreams on a shelf forever or take one last stab at them. Both are connected enough to go to clubs surrounded by people beautiful enough for HBO and sleep with gorgeous women but they can’t pay the rent. As is sometimes the case, it’s almost unsettling to watch Hollywood’s idea of being poor in NYC. This is not true “economic crisis” poverty. It’s the beautiful version of it.

Television Rating: 2.5/5.0 Chicago – I am completely unashamed to admit to being a hopeless romantic and someone easily manipulated by cheesy, sudsy, heartfelt tales of love. I say this because even this loyal fan of movie musicals was pushed over the edge by the goofy romantic dramedy “Cupid,” the new tale of love in the big city debuting on ABC on Tuesday, March 31st.
I preface this review with my affection for all things romantic to make clear that I honestly wanted to like “Cupid”. It features two incredibly charismatic leads in Bobby Cannavale and Sarah Paulson (and a solid supporting cast) and the consistently depressing state of the world could always use a little more amore. But this is not the way to get it.

Television Rating: 3.5/5.0 Chicago – You won’t see many shows much more ambitious than NBC’s “Kings”. The multi-character drama borrows from the story of King David to create a tapestry piece about power, corruption, and war. It’s dense, layered, complex storytelling that you rarely see on network television. In other words, I don’t think it’s going to be on very long.
“We give up what we want when we want power.” - King Silas Benjamin (Ian McShane, “Deadwood”)
In the two-hour premiere of “Kings,” directed by “I Am Legend“‘s Francis Lawrence (as are all of the first four hours) and created by “Heroes”’ Michael Green, we meet the popular King of Gilboa, Silas Benjamin, played with driven perfection by the great Ian McShane. His people have recently emerged stronger from a horrible war and the King lives with his Queen Rose (Susanna Thompson of “Once and...

Television Rating: 4.0/5.0 Chicago – Is it finally time for Nathan Fillion to become a star? One of the most charismatic TV actors of the last few years should have become a legend for his work on “Firefly,” but that wasn’t meant to be. Now he’s back and just as good opposite Stana Katic on the very-promising “Castle,” a mystery-of-the-week show distinguished by the excellent chemistry of its leads.
What sets murder mystery shows apart? Why does “The Mentalist” turn into a phenomenon while so many others fail? Having seen dozens of these shows as a TV critic for years, it’s two things that are really common to successful shows of any kind - the chemistry of the cast and the quality of the writing. The former is fantastic in ABC’s new “Castle” and I believe the latter will get there too. With “Dancing With the Stars” as a lead-in,...
